But the 12-bit resolution is not all. For over a year, we studied every bit of this studio gear masterpiece to bring back its unique character to your modern DAW with the RX950.

Input Gain
makes your sound loud ’n proud with the S950’s unique grit and warm distortion. It’s powerful and will help anything stand out in your mix.

Audio Bandwidth
controls the target sample rate and analog-to-digital conversion circuitry with an exquisite, yet remarkably subtle, aliasing effect.

Filter
controls the S950’s infamous steep low-pass filter. Use it on separate elements, or on any output bus or master section.

Brilliance
Adjust the Audio Bandwidth's high-frequency response with the Brilliance knob (in Settings/Back panel).

it's basically a filter + bitcrusher plugin that modeled the S950 signal path. As with ALL old digital reverb emulations, they also modeled the AD/DA because it's part of the signal path.

that is an older version though. I remember having some issues on studio onewith that 2018 release. I think this release is worth a try. just my opinion

But why would they choose the S950 AD/DA converter to model, instead of the S900 ?
I remember that we already thought it sounded too plastic compared to the S900 when we A/B'd them !
The only difference in regards a plugin is thus the higher 48 kHz of the S950.
In my opinion the S900 has been a more iconic sound and on more and better tracks during a better time than the S950.
The only exciting bit was the time-stretching on the S950 back then, which did obviously became an iconic sound in it's own right for a certain genre ! <J-u-u-u-n-n-n-g-g-l-i-i-i-ist> AKA Neo's mercury throat noise !

S950 is imparted on the sound of a lot of old breakbeat hardcore and jungle tracks, it was the goto sampler back then. It's considered a classic. I don't think people would show as much interest if it was the S900.
