Techivation T-Clarity v. 1.0.2 [MOCHA] screenshot
AudioZ Exclusive | VST2 / VST3 | 3.40 MB
Techivation T-Clarity is an audio plug-in designed to clean muddiness and boxiness in audio. It is a powerful tool for making your mid-range sound more solid and consistent.
T-Clarity enhances the quality of mid-range frequencies musically, and it’s an essential tool along with the T-De-Esser for any audio processing tasks.

What is a muddy and boxy sound?

It’s very common to have an unpleasant sound from 200 to 500Hz in most recordings and mixes, and those unwanted audio effects are usually referred to as muddy sounds. A muddy sound is mainly caused by not having the right balance in the sounds. Boxiness is a similar unpleasant sound coming from a frequency range of 250 and 900Hz in many recordings.

A common way of fixing muddiness is to cut down the frequencies using an EQ, however, it comes with the price of having your overall sound changed, as muddiness may only occur at some parts of your sound source or mix. A more frequently used method is to use dynamic EQ,s, but they often make the final sound unnatural, as they may badly affect the frequency balance.

Just like how the Techivation T-De-Esser cleans up the high frequencies of sounds giving a musical and natural-sounding result, the T-Clarity does this on the low and mid frequencies of sound, resulting in a clear, smooth, and pleasant sound.

Clean muddy & boxy sounds , fast

You can use T-Clarity to:

Remove harshness from sound sources that were closely mic’d
Manage sibilance in vocals and dialog in a transparent manner
Add more balance to your mixes
Treat irregular tonal balance caused by poor recording quality
Control the mid frequencies in overheads’, such as kick drums, snare, or tom drum
Give more dynamic range to your tracks while mastering, due to the reduction of unnecessary harsh frequencies

T-Clarity, like the T-De-Esser, can help you optimize your audio processing workflow by saving you time and effort. It is as effective on individual tracks as it is on buses. It excels in a broad variety of applications, from sound design and post-production to the most

The special behavior

Unlike most tools that may help fix muddiness and boxiness in sounds, the T-clarity gives you a very musical and natural-sounding result.

The only noticeable difference in your final output will be the removal of muddy and boxy sounds.

Side Chain Frequency Modes

Side Chain Frequency Modes include four specific side-chained frequency bands to detect harsh sounds.
CPU Optimized

Well optimized for low CPU usage on both Windows and macOS.

GUI Scale

Scale up/down the GUI from 80% to 150% according to your preferences.
Undo/Redo

Undo and redo options are built inside the plugin, You no longer need to worry about losing setting values.
A/B Switch

Compare different options fast and easy to see which might work best.
Audition

This feature allows you to quickly listen to the T-Clarity's selected frequency bands in solo or just the effect of the plug-in on your signal.

Fast and effective

We love simplicity and having things more organized. Quick solutions save you time, and the saved time can be used to achieve greater accomplishments.

T-Clarity was created with the same goal in mind.. It can save you a lot of time and effort while helping you get a better result out of your work.

The same way as T-De-Esser turning the processing knob starts the plug-in’s operation, you then set how intense you want to go according to your taste. There are 4 frequency bands available to choose between, choose depending on where the muddy and boxy sounds are coming from.

So...it compresses the whole signal, and is multiband yet within the boxy range, but we can only use one of the 4 bands.
And the points they bring up regards static EQ or dynamic EQ are moot and/or at least subjective.
Peculiar. But understandable in this day and age if they want to make money from newbeats with no knowledge of sound engineering.
I guess just saying the word "algorithm" in a sales/advert video works !
Apologies. It does seem cool and may well be very useful and time-saving for the right customer. And a great share.
The Clavichord is from the Late Middle Ages. It's not a Clavinet.

Marketing is one thing.
But I use my ears to chose a plugin.
So let's talk about how it sounds.
Did you tried it?

It works on a simple de-esser principle, but on different frequencies. You have a stiff fabric choice (4) of the position of a single band. Besides that, you have only the rudimentary controls of a simple compressor.
It measures very well on all tests except Hammerstein test, which shows a large buildup of odd harmonics (3rd and 5th) in the chosen band range going up even -15 to -30 dB. It is non-declared saturation in fact, which colorizes the sound greatly. On default setting, the gain reduction within the chosen band is set at -7.5 dB.
There are no analysis tools or graphs with mouse control, you must do everything by ear.
The same job, but much more precisely can be done with TDR Nova GE, where after analysis you have the exact band position (based on median of peaks), the appropriate Q factor and the max. gain reduction computed. You can also have up to 6 bands simultaneously.
DSEQ3 and Soothe 2 would also be quite more suited for this job.

As always, thanks for your analysis.
And just to add that my favorite option for this task is Surfer EQ, works wonders on idividual tracks.
LOUDAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
