By far the best "all in one" solution
Especially the "Kemper in a box" Rig Player

Yes Neural DSP rules too ... but VERY limited compared to this.
Until Neural DSP release a "Kemper in a box" like Rig Player AND complete suite, Overloud is the best.

STL is lagging just behind.
I don't even speak about Guitar Rig, Amplitube, Helix ... OUTDATED engines

Try Rig Player with integrated cab disabled and a good OwnHammer impulse

Thanks !

Overloud is so good I am about to sell my Axe FX II and take a $1200 beating. lesson learned.

Over the years I’ve experimented with a lot of these amp simulator plugins and I can hands down say that Overloud TH-U is the winner! Far superior to the rest. Even so that I’ve deleted all the others!

I agree, the Rig Player is the best, sound wise - and the old modelling amps aren't bad either - but browsing through the hundreds of rigs for each model drives me nuts. I wish I could load the amp, and all the different rigs loaded in the background, according to my settings, without me having to worry my pretty little head about it. And they should do something about the interface, make it less grey and tomb-like. That's were Amplitube scores the most points. And lowering the price wouldn't hurt either. if I were to buy all the rigs to match the number of amps, I'd have to sell my car.

You can TRY all rigs with this release, and pick only the bests for you.
About "preloading" rigs, you can use a "live" host or modular host to load everything and disable/enable each plugin instance.

OR you can load them in a single plugin instance with splitter/mixer.
OR you can save all your rigs as presets in the same folder AND navigate into those presets with a pedalboard.

Tip : disable "cab" on Rig Player and use THE SAME good IR after ALL Rigs (like OwnHammer)
It will be easier to find the right Rig
One IR for clean sound, One IR for distortion

yeah, it's trying endless rig lists that's exactly the problem. i need an amp, not trying 200 files, to see which one is "more ampy", and using a pedalboard instead of the mouse doesn't solve that, that just changes the browsing controller, not the browsing concept, which is the problem in itself.

i never use the cabs contained in the rigs, that section is always deactivated, as there rarely is a cab capture that i like, and, again, having to through 200 presets, to find a good miking combination - life's too short, pedalboard or not. it's a bad concept.

and loading third party IRs, that's browsing through different files instead of the default ones, still doesn't remove the problem. i already have tons of IRs, and i never use them - for that reason.

for the cabs, in th-u i use the supercabinet by default, from the rigs i'm only interested in the amp section, but even for that you can't tell which one is "it", to begin with, with all the embedded screamer and slammer combinations, that don't belong there. just choosing an amp rig that is "the amp" is like pulling teeth. the pedals should be separate. i think the concept fails th-u in that regard.

but supercabinet, most of the choptones don't have the mics that i'm interested in - an 84, a 609, a 4038, so most of the cabs i can't use there either. the jensens and overloud's own have all the mics, but those are just a few of the cabs - most of the cabs for the various amps don't have them.

there should be a single rig library for any given amp model, with various rigs sampled for different setting combinations changing internally, for accuracy only, because amps behave differently at different settings - loading automatically without me having to know about them. no cab included in the amp rigs - that multiplies the number of rigs by a factor of hundreds, just to be able to audition the mics and positions. the cabs should be all available in supercabinet, for each amp, and it should have 3d positioning. with no browsers anywhere. browsing through endless IRs is ten years ago - and, to be honest, i never understood why those weren't organized as 3d positioning loaders, to begin with. i never understood the browser concept for the start. it takes people 10 years to get the obvious, and they call that evolution.

amplitube doesn't sound as good, but conceptually is a lot easier, intuitive and fun to navigate - it's basically the common sense navigation solution that should have been norm all along, but strangely enough still isn't. and i like the rooms, which every cab loader should have - even if i never use the included ones, cause they don't sound that good - i use either fame or sunset sound, for that, instead.

it's the concept, the graphics, and the price that let th-u down.

it's a shame, cause IR technology sounds the best, so far. but what you need is the amp, not endless IR lists to go through just to decide which one is the "real amp" first.

I agree. It is better to sacrifice sound quality for convenience.

Helix outdated?
Helix modelling platform is 7 years old and it's still improving (They havent even made a Helix 2 yet as they dont need to do it as it is still improving which is awesome when competitors spit out new boxes every years or so) and next update 3.2 is gonna be the best sonically improvement that has made it to the HX platform they always tweak it for every update.

If you want athentic amp sound Helix is the up with the best ampsims and to my ears and many other ears aswell nothing beats it if you use the same IR
I havent heard anything sounds better then Helix i have heard ampsims sounds equally good using the same IR but not better thats for sure.

Remember i said AMP sound not CAB sound
Just use Helix with IR instead of built in cab and it sounds fantastic and authentic its that simple.

i AGREE! Overloud is so dam good. I have deleted all except a few neural dsps and only because they have some very cool weird presets. The metal tones the cleans the ease of setup and use is amazing in THU. I have been on the fence at times about selling my mesa because of this plug! Thanks VR and Sunny.
Im thinking Im back

Thank you for this!
So all we have to do is install the libraries over the existing program? or do we have to install the program and then the libraries?
Also, my existing program still say's "DEMO", but it works.
will installing this one fix that?

I've tried half dozen amp sims and always come back to Peavey Revalver (for clean to crunch tones, because that's all I use 90% of the time).
But all this praising has got me curious so I'll give this one a try

So, this is slate edition only?

No, it's the Premium version, it doesn't have the Slate Cab IR Loader or any Slate presets. I'd wait for the R2R version, they usually include the Slate gear.

I need a little help...After the installation is complete, where should I insert the "Library" folder?
  Resident 2.02.2017 428
+237
Drag and drop each file inside the Library folder (factory.thu, RigLibrary.riglib, supercabinet.thu) into TH-U.

Why is this one so much heavier than the others?

I don't mind, it's just that I'd like to make an informed choice

these extra banks/presets work on the R2R version as well, and stay after plugin restart unlike the R2R supplied presets. Went with the R2R as a base and this for libs, works like a charm! many thanks!
