Actual, not snide question: why bother to download R2R version (or R2R bother to release it) when with their Silk emulator you can DL direct from Steinberg and it works perfectly?

I tried downloading and installing this version directly from Download Assistant and it took the activation down. It seems to be they moved the license engine folder to another directory.
Just my experience.

You don't need to use Download Assistant. Just download direct from Steinberg site. Copy the license file from the R2R folder in /Program Files/Common Files/Steinberg and hey presto - it works fine.
Same thing for Nuendo.

TL;DR: You can DL Nuendo and Cubase direct from Steinberg and both work perfectly if you copy the R2R license file you already have.

R2R's Cubase 12 doesn't need to install Steinberg Activation Manager and Steinberg Library Manager. Using legit Cubase 12 installer(Setup.exe) needs prior installation of both manager programs. If you use Cubase12.msi file instead of Setup.exe, you can skip Library Manager, but still have to install Activation Manager, so R2R's installer has its merit still.

Thats's no longer the case with version 12.0.30 since you'll get a no valid license found error if you don't do the license-engine-access.dll move. At least that was the case with the Nuendo 12.0.30 update and I'll bet the same for Cubase 12.0.30.

Cubase 12.0.30 and Nuendo 12.0.30 work perfectly when dl directly from Steinberg.
Just replace the license-engine-access.dll in Program Files/Common Files /Steinberg/Activation Manager with the file of the same name in the TEAM R2R folder.
For me (without a premium account with RG etc) it's a lot quicker to DL from Steinberg and copy one file. YMMV.

Because R2R are kind guys, if you're installing Cubase for the first time you want to have the latest version without getting mad, just read nfo, it's called proper warez.

hi,i was running the r2r cubase 12.0.20 no probs.
i downloaded the .30 from steinberg site and have installed but when i start it up im getting the no valid license found error.
i have moved the license engine dll as suggested

Not on my system. The only thing you have to do is create the folder "Activation Manager" in C: > Program Files > Common Files > Steinberg > and copy the *.dll file in "TEAM R2R" to the just created folder "Activation Manager" and you're ready to go.
