MASSIVE LEGEND
The VREV-140 is a vibrant reverb inspired by the holy grail of plates. Developed in the 1950s, this technological premiere with just 170 kg / 375 lb of weight finally offered a 'portable' reverb solution which was more flexible than the echo chambers used at the time. The Fuse incarnation of this studio icon delivers the rich and complex response the 140 is known and loved for.

VOX & DRUMS
With its smooth timbre and plate-specific density, the VREV-140 performs exceptionally well on vocals, guitars and drums. With more extreme settings applied, the synthetic aspect of the plate imposes truly inspiring reverb effects on any source. Also, the unique sound of the 140 is just perfect for adding spatial width and air to all of your signals.

EXTRAS GALORE
The VREV-140 provides the ultimate plate experience by offering a fully gain compensated preamp section and extending the decay from originally 5 to a whopping 32 seconds. An additional 3-band EQ is the key for intuitively embedding the processed signals into any mix. The width and balance parameters and a pre-delay of up to 500 ms allow for more control and special effects.

EPIC TAILS
You want to enchant your mixes by introducing unique plate-style space and dimension, apply lush reverberation tails to instruments or vocals, create otherworldly sounds or just want to sound a little bit more like the Beatles or Pink Floyd? The VREV-140 is the answer. And even if you end up plate galore, the mix control will help to dose heavy goodness within reason.

I'd argue that 170kg/375lbs isn't very portable at all

Imagine the weight of those that were not portable

TNX.

Demoed it against Sunset Sound 140 reverb. IK sounds cleaner the HP filter is better on IK but Fuse has a lot of grain, which can be a plus over the cleaner IK. Both are very good.

against Arturias ? ill check it in a while but .... i have come to a conclusion that most of Fuse plugins do ..... almost nothing ! Compressors and preamps are bullshit for example compared to other plugins like Softtube , PSP , Kush etc ... My opinion , my ears of course !

I have checked it and im not impressed ( heavy grain , thin sound , not very warm , high self instead of high cut ) compared to Arturias which is almost top for me ...... but the Supertops for my taste are ( plates )

- Physical Audio Dynamic Plate Reverb ( maybe the best after some tweaking )
- Rare Signals Transatlantic Plate Reverb ( top )
- UVI Plate ( Superb )
- Kush Audio Goldplate ( warm as hell , heavy on cpu though )
- Denise Audio Perfect Plate ( little gem ... )

You should probably get an ear exam and also read the resumé of the developer before talking shit about his plugins.
  Resident 27.02.2022 429

you should first trust your ears before read the resume of the developer OR you do buy products if the resume is top ? I have read it as i have done in every developer . I dont care if he writes code for NASA or Aliens , i only care if the product is working . The same with Kazrogs True Iron with the awards that is totally bullshit . Im in a phase that try almost all vsts and compare them in order to be left with the ones that do what they say and stick with them . Try the same and you will be amazed from the results . Also in a treated ( 11000 euros for panels absorbers traps etc ) home studio and not in a garage ..............
  Resident 5.09.2012 726

That's why I said you should have let your ears checked. Because his plugins are not bullshit. Yeah, because you sit in studio with 11,000 € worth of of absorbers, you need to download cracked plugins and COMPLAIN about their sound quality. Get the True Iron(y) of that?!

Real Plate Reverbs were grainy by design

the developer is the same person that developed the prototype until final product of brainworx SSL channel strips plugin that even until today not one plugin could come close to catch in term of console emulation. Other than that, Elysia, Black Rooster, Black Box HG, Acme, Vertigo all those famous hardware emulation plugins on the UAD platform before Plugin Alliance pull them all out from the UAD and made them native.

His name is Reimund Dratwa and at Gearspace forum, his reputation made people TRY AFTER BUY his plugin. He is among the best plugin dev in the world, that made hardware emulation famous and accepted by all those world class mixer out there. Fuse Audio Labs is the company he started.

but yeah, some random dude at AZ is better than him because he has world class listening ability and 11k treated room. What do we know eh ?
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

Maybe he had a better team and tech behind him when he was working at the PA because his own plugins are a hit and miss.
Plenty of excellent coders our there.
Anyone can have an opinion, you sound like a corporate shill.

IK to me sounds the best of all three plates IMO, it also sits great in the mix. I was not that impressed with Arturia.
IK has less grain and other issues that typically vintage plate plugins have. I have no idea how the real thing sounds though.

Edit:

Checked out Arturia again. I may have been to harsh on it. Sounds good. I wish the decay on the 2nd mid unit could go even lower.

Best plate reverb I found were free impulse responses that I found somewhere on the webs. Funny enoughm the best sounding plate reverb plugins are all based on impulse responses anyway (with a fancy GUI on top), so why not use impulse responses in the first place?

True.
Slate Verbsuite, the best are the Bricasti IRs.
Altiverb still the king of reverb plugins after all these years imo and i have tried everything.

Did the exact same test and came to the same conclusion. Both are very usable...Fuse has its own pleasing character.

I love fuse audio labs, too bad I'm already full of plates (use mainly little plate and arturia's) would love to read how do you guys feel about this one, specially compared to well known plates like UVI, Arturia, etc.
be kind :)

weird that people don't like this one. It sounding close to my two favourite plate sound, "A Plate" and "London Plate". Warm with just right diffusion on the tails. Ill keep it, always like all the Fuse Audio plugin anyway.

Waves plugins aren't king of anything. But this is one of their better plugins, though.
