Muon Electron VSTi DXi v1.12-ArCTiC screenshot
Team ArCTiC | 01-11-03 | 1.63 MB
The Muon Electron is poised to change the way VST instruments are perceived.

We have combined the warmth, power and range of a classic analogue synth with an innovative and flexible architecture so that you, the musician, can create huge, complex sounds and control them dynamically in your music.

Three powerful 64-bit oscillators with pulse-width modulation and sync to give you the raw audio horsepower needed to hit the deepest bass depths or crystal highs - without distortion, noise or digital artefacts.

Two independent multimode resonant filters, capable of being linked together, split apart, re-routed into each other or even cross-faded from one type to another.

Two user-assignable LFOs, plus envelope generators and MIDI performance controllers for modulation madness.

With over 60 parameters and stunning user interface features like the XY Controller the Electron is a synth that will keep even the keenest sound architect busy for months. That's not to say you'll need to be a rocket scientist to work it though, and you won't need a mega PC to run it on!

Features:

3 Oscillators (Saw, Square, & Variable Pulse with PWM & hard sync).
16 voice polyphonic (Dynamic voice allocation).
2 multimode resonant filters connectable in serial, parallel/cross-fade, link mode or in isolation.
2 LFOs with selectable waves assignable to most parameters.
2 ADSR envelopes assignable to most parameters.
64 bit audio engine.
Fully automatable via MIDI.
Responds to Velocity, Pitch Bend, Aftertouch & Modulation wheel, with assignable routing.
X-Y controller, assign any parameter to the X and Y axis and morph them both at the same time using the mouse.

I think I'll grab this for nostalgias sake and see where it gets me.

Thanks!

32 bit? Does one run this inside a patchworks or bridge or what? Is it 64 bit?

32-bit of course (95% of vsts before 2010 were 32-bit, no way I would abandon them), works fine in at least four of my DAWs without jbridge

Nothing beats good old Mercury-1 by TC Works. [joking] Depeche Mode used it in some of their songs on the "Ultra". That synth sounds like shit now to me. There is a bottom line to it, but it escapes me right now.

I really think Mercury-1 is so crap I wouldn't even use it on a desert island and Muon synths always sounded even worse as I remeber it. I'd rather use logs, cocos, and bananas, hmmm well... but DM used stuff like that at the time. It's how you use it, I suppose, and that may be the bottom line.

that is very off topic... anyway Mercury-1 is not good by today's standards, but it's also not the worst ever. SC101 and cesSynth1 are some of the worst sounding synths ever.

You may drag and drop dll on to 32-bit Savihost exe, activate qwerty keyboard (by pressing F11) and simply play it, no bridges and patchworks
