MIA Laboratories Musiqual Bundle MkII v1.0.0-RET screenshot
Team RET | 2021-08-30 | 34.61 MB
The Musiqual tools encapsulate all the characteristics and inner workings of their analog counterparts, providing the user with a simple way to achieve the perfect combination of tone and colour.

Each unit consists of a Single Band EQ -with carefully selected and tuned frequency bands-, a Harmonic Distortion component and a Compressor, recreating the sound of the much appraised analog gear.

Red for Tube, Green for Transistor and Blue for Class A; all together creating a unique and powerful set of tools to add a warm, analog flavour to your sound, with precise control over the amount of coloration, harmonic distortion and compression applied.

SUPER FAT, THIN and MUSCLE, are a unique combination of the Musiqual EQs, with a final magic touch of Pi&Phi that sets you “One knob away” from your desired outcome!

SUPER FAT maximises low frequencies in a friendly way to the new generation of sound systems. Adds the desired extra Grease in your sound with the turn of just one knob. Recommended for club mixes and genres such as Techno, Dub, Reggae and RnB.

SUPER THIN, the most delicate member of the FAT – THIN – MUSCLE group, adds brilliance without harshness. Recommended for dull sounds, will make them louder on smaller systems such as laptops, phones etc. Lifts up that track and gives it some ethereal essence.

SUPER MUSCLE increases perceived loudness and presence without compression. Recommended for low loudness files such as mp3’s. Want it loud and proud? This is one of your best weapons!

Not a fan of EQs, but I guess if I have 15 compressors, I might as well get a few of those too.
Edit: I mean that I don't use lots of different EQs for fun.
Whatever.

not a fan of EQs? that's like saying your not a fan of speakers ... or air ...

Exactly!!

I think he is pointing out the inherent nature of digital eqs and how they all pretty much use the same math for the filtering component. The only difference is Gui and added noise / distortion algorithms for colour

Funny,
But the man just meant something else, I think ...

Look? Ok but how do they SOUND...
Imagine visiting an art gallery and scratching a painting to hear how beautiful it looks

I remember trying them when R2R released them and deleting them immediately. Not all iLok protected plugins are supposed to sound good

Haven't tried them, but many people on gearspace (former gearsluts) seem to think otherwise. ;)

That's BS!!
What do you mean here by saying 'many'?
Greater than 5?
Cause' that's what I can see on gearslutz..

+ plugins whose names contain fat, thin, colours and these kind of terms don't give the best impression

Concider a bit how rediculous seems to judge plugins from their names or the way they choose to protected

I tried enough plugins in the past that I purposely let myself influenced by GUI and names because they're mostly related to the quality of the plugin.

Misusing of the term 'analogue' by bringing it down to harmonic distortion is the fashion of the last decades of audio processing.
The main advantage of analogue sound is the lack of quantization in general, implying no need for ADC and DAC conversions in recording and reproduction, and no digital artifacts of any kind.
Any digital recording is just a rasterized model of continuous analogue currents produced by a microphone. You can not change that fact in digital domain by any means, especially not by 'creativity', 'variety' or guesswork in handling harmonics.
So 'analogue modeling' gives people just an opportunity to 'chose' between degraded sounds. Starting from that point, any considerations about analogue modeling software 'quality' are in fact pointless.

I always enjoy reading your comments and often ask myself what kind of background you have to have such a deep insight. Interesting read, thank you.

It's about which degraded sound is the closest

if you see analog as the non plus ultra..its old tech. everything degrades on its way to the listener. we have more control of this process in a digital domain.

That idea makes me like to have an efficient and accurate EQ and then add color within a separate stage with an easy/quick bypass, or if need be .. a separate plugin.

There are obviously some great results out there with that, but i will go with consensus on results and not be testing stuff for my own worthless evaluation...

That is why I don't really try much new "analog modeling" stuff myself.

yeah, i think those are in the "SUPER BUNDLE" which is a different bundle.

but from the website, this should contain all of Super Bundle in it.
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

Here missing the Fat, Thin and Muscle plugins for me too. (like Sirwicked33)
those 3 plugins don't appear in the vst3 folder (Win10). Other 3 (red green & blue) work great
Anyway thanks a lot RET
