First and foremost thanks for posting this and helping keep us impoverished mac users making music. Their site is still up and they are still selling stuff that makes you wonder why on earth anyone would buy it when there is so much out there that is totally free that sounds light years better. I just housecleaned everything studiolinked out of my computer. Only because space is becoming a premium and there are better releases here on audioz. It didn't really sound that bad, but it's not needed, and was seldom used.

Not to defend these guys or anything, but I honestly don't think the goal was to make a "realistic" acoustic guitar sound, any more than an acoustic guitar patch on a DX7 sounds "realistic". For crappy pop music that's afraid of real instruments, it seems to fit right in. If I want a "real" sounding acoustic, I have 40GBs of Prominy Hummingbird, 16 GBs of Acou6stics or 11 GBs of RealGuitar. That said, I don't work on crappy pop music (intentionally), so this is a huge bust.

Yeah - Creative effects.
Sometimes the interface or different way of controls can lead to good results.
Certainly the crackling lowpass guitar on "Wish You Were Here" is not the best Kontakt library.

I mean, how often do you really want a guitar that sounds like it is being played in a crystal sound booth by a guy in a tuxedo with white gloves and a golden plectrum?

Then you've never messed around with Strum GS-2, which, for some reason, still occupies space on my hard drive, or any of the uJam guitar VIs, which are just terrible.
