Yeah... in PT12.5hd asking for Ilok license, however from what I could hear while testing it sounded VERY good.. on the mix bus (in place of IK multimedia tapes which are also great but very CPU hungry)

It's effect is obvious (if you want it to be) did you actually try some presets or just insert as default?

tested with some presets and manual tweaking, I evern tried to crank it, but I couldn't hear the change. I load a Slate VTM to compare and without doing anything (on its default) already can hear the difference (because I'm that good, lol kidding) it (VTM) made. I know the effect is meant to be subtle but not to a compressor addict, we can hear everything. lol.

I used to use VTM, it has a massive (exaggerated) head bump (low end boost).

IK tape and softube tape are more subtle, but work well in 'placing' a mix on a stage (not a live stage just a cohesive sound stage)... I mean VTM does that too, but it's a little over the top.

yeah, Im aware of that bass bump, i usually reduce the bass and noise (everytime). what i was trying to say I can feel VTM "tape effect" you know that "sound" we can't describe but there, the tape sound.

I think the softube will work best in context with 10 or more instances of it (like how tape plugins meant to be used). IK's are good, i like MCI. I guess I will test em all again on my old project, load it on every track and see tomorrow. we all have to wait for the FIX anyway. (and what comes after it). or Ill get excited and forget about this. no control over my life since the wave started. lol

just to update you, I think something is totally wrong with previous release, the FIXED one seems better and yeah I can hear the change and effect and response as it should. all good. thanks to the R2R for the quick fix.

There will be some plugins that have missed dongle/licence calls as more people test these releases there will be some repacks....just give it some time.
