GSi VariSpeed is a new plugin that GSi offers free of charge to everybody. It's a simulation of the WEM Copicat IC-400 Belt Drive VariSpeed model, the first tape echo machine made by WEM with a DC capstan motor capable of changing speed, thus varying the delay time. GSi VariSpeed replicates the hardware instrument “as is” with all its pros and cons, without any additional feature except the fact that it is digital and MIDI-controllable. This can be considered as the second chapter of a tribute to the genius of Mr. Charlie Watkins that GSi began back in 2008 with the release of the freeware "WatKat", which was a simulation of the "Custom Copicat".



* VariSpeed is adware (free with ads).
* VariSpeed checks connection to their website.
* VariSpeed checks connection to following website :

* When the check of GSi website fails and other website is OK, VariSpeed
thinks user is blocking connection to their website. VariSpeed shows error
about that and it stops working. This is counter action to the R2R release
user because they are blocking the connection to avoid homecalling.


The issue of this protection is that legit users also may have problem when
the developer site is down or developer shuts down their website. This R2R
release does not do those connection check and always working like the real
freeware.

VB3 might be good, but if i want an organ there are very deeply sampled ones around,
they might have the best physical modelling organ, but all the FX by genuine soundware have better options by other companies

Back in the seventies I read that thin Lizzy used wem copycat echo units,So I bought one for 200 pounds second hand.. To this day I regret selling it, because I could never find another one ..maybe this will do for 2020..

The developer actually got into a back and forth about the issues brought up in the NFO on Gearslutz recently. He seemed pretty upset that he was being criticized for it.
