Very versatile tool for people who can't stand natural sounding bass. Should be used only on single bass/kick tracks though.
Distorts a lot in every respect (especially in phase response), creates a lot of smudging in 20-50 Hz range. Far from an 'enhancement' tool, but very close to a distortion and destruction one.
Not worth getting into technical quality detail, just an example:
"Clarity' control pushed up to ~33% creates a big dip @400 Hz (-12.5 dB), turning it more, up to ~66% creates also a supplemental 4 dB peak @5.5 kHz, and in the end, at 100% it creates an (third) additional peak of 9 dB @15.5 kHz. Just imagine the curve.

Personally, I try to avoid them, and use EQ-ing mostly.
Waves bass plugins have a reputation, but technically (best performing on measurements) is Leapwing RootOne, which also offers a lot of clever and well working controls.
But this is meant having in mind a bass enhancing tool. If you want to distort, my opinion is of no importance.
