The Free Ranger is based upon the Full Ranger-EQ from SPL’s EQ Rangers series. It features four very useful bands: The 16 kHz center frequency band is great for adding very pleasant brilliance; the 1.8kHz center frequency band really brings out lead vocals and guitars or reduces harshness; the 150 Hz center frequency band adds warmth, making tracks fuller & fatter, while the 40 Hz center frequency band adds that sub thump or reduces rumble.

Once you’ve grabbed your Free Ranger, you’ll want to demo the SPL EQ Rangers bundle which includes three 8-band EQs: Vox Ranger, Bass Ranger and Full Ranger. Like all Plugin Alliance products, they’re available as 14-day full function demos and no dongle is required!

The Analog Code
During listening tests of this technology, a hardware developer remarked that SPL had “cracked the Analog Code!” and in the process, coined the name of SPL’s software product line.

Note, if you use this it will disable all the other PA cracks, they won't work if there are any legit PA stuff on the same system

No, they won't. You can have both on your system if you place legit PA license on USB stick.

100% correct, playtimer.

That being said, this is included in the SPL bundle (even if it isn't the latest version,) that R2R dropped about a year ago. I find enough of their plugins usefu--Transient Designer, Attacker Plus, Mo-Verb/De-Verb, Vitalizer MK2, etc.,--that I think it's worth grabbing the bundle.

(It's a shame their stuff is so spendy. The full version of this runs around $150. I, personally, would grab another DMG plugin for that price.

I agree mate, whole PA plugins palette is professional grade! I pulled the trigger and subscribed to new Mix & Master yearly bundle for $149 and got $199 + $20 vouchers back. Absolutely worth it

Yeah, I'd agree, as one of my main-stays in my mixes is Dangerous Music's BAXEQ and I really like the Maag EQs, but I've always had problem with PA plugins spiking my CPU like a MF; everything from Brainworx, and Maag to SPL and Dangerous Music...though, thankfully, the BAXEQ exhibits this the least, it's still wicked frustrating. It seems to only happen when I reload a session that have them already slotted onto tracks and it only ever happens with PA plugins.
