I updated to the new Version. Still crashin Live 10 :(
  Member 10.08.2015 9
Still seems incredibly buggy!

2.0.3 and 2.0.6 both have the same issue:

Cubase: Flags as "blacklisted" and will not allow it to be reactivated

Ableton: When rescanning, it shows the VST count increase but is not visible under the Plugins

That's interesting -- it works beautifully with Ableton for me. But so did the previous version. Running 10.0.6 Team R2R on Windows 7.

I've had exactly this problem before when missing necessary packages.

Try installing the Visual C++ redistributable all in one pack. Alternatively, install the free demo of Scaler 2, uninstall and then install the warez.

Appreciate the suggestions @buntymc / lpu2n
  Resident 2.08.2015 649
Actually there is a txt file in the archive that specifies the needed runtime.
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2019 x64

I recommend just installing the all in one pack and not needing to bother again for a while.

2.0.3 initially had issues as stated above (Cubase blacklisted, not showing at all within Ableton)

Tried installing the suggested x64 version:

Windows stopped installation and stated an existing newer version was installed.

Moving to version 2.0.6
Initially experienced the same issues.
At the advice of lpu2n, performed a deep clean uninstall and installed the 30 day demo.

This worked, it installed the required C++ distribution package, required a reboot and the plugin displayed. (The demo installation setup dialogue is different from the two versions available here)

The license key would not recognize several attempts to register.
Noticed the version was 2.0.7b

Did another clean uninstall (made sure to leave the C++ VS package in tact)
installed 2.0.3 and was able to use and register with Ableton.

Attempted to install 2.0.6 and overwrite 2.0.3 thinking it may keep the license information. but it prompted for registration and would not accept the email.

Hope this helps.

I believe the link you posted is the 2016 x64 version of VC++. You need the 2019 version. You always need the exact year and architecture (x86 or x64) required by the app. The 2019 version is not backwards compatible with the 2016 version and neither does the 2016 version work with an app that needs 2019. That's why I suggest downloading the all-in-one bundle from here. You can install separately or just run the script as administrator and it will do all of the packages automatically.

Not sure why you're having problems with 2.0.6, works perfectly for me. For future updates I suggest using Revo uninstaller to perform a deep registry and file cleaning to get whatever keys or licenses that might be causing the problem. Or you can deal with the problem right now and use a system restore point to restore to before you installed the demo, then install the VC++ bundle and then try at Scaler over again.

Yeah, sorry for the confusion, it was a recap of the things I tried starting from when 2.0.3 was released.

From there I was able to move forward and ultimately get 2.0.3 to work.
Revo is actually the tool I used to uninstall/clean between versions and still can only get 2.0.3 working, .6 will not accept any email addresses.

Thanks for all the help! Going to try with the all-in-one and if that doesn't work, I will wait for another version.

Hi. This is great advice but the package only goes up to 2017. If you copy the text from the provided text file in the download and search that on google it will take you to the 2015 - 2019 version of Visual C++ thats required. Dont forget you will need to reinstall Scaler and reboot for the changes to be accepted oh and alos make sure you copy the random email you created in the KG as you'll need it in part 2 of the authorisation. Good lock peeps.

I have done every combination of the uninstalls (w/ Revo) /reinstalls all C++ packages, individuals, etc... The only one that will work is 2.0.3

2.0.6 will not accept any email address (even verified working ones from 2.0.3)

Their support forums are filled with bugs, gonna have to sit this one out.
  Resident 2.08.2015 649
@zeffer The all-in-one is up to date, it's just that the Microsoft installer it uses bundles 2015, 2017 and 2019 together.

Can I Install over the recent 2.0.3 version that was posted last week, or fresh install?
  Resident 1.03.2014 7 847
In general (perhaps it's not an absolute rule) : the best way is uninstall previous, then install fresh.

Thanks, appreciate the info! Should use "peep" for that link, no? I might be new but IIRC this isn't recommended. It would be a shame to lose this valuable resource.

Mine did not work as a stand-alone either, but I found a way.
Download and install the trial version then install this version over it using the kg. then I used savihost and it runs fine. I can then drag the midi into the DAW. (I use Reaper)
  Member 21.04.2018 4
I have another question. Is it possible to add more instruments to the ones that come with scaler 2? I know they are Flac files, but can I add others?
I noticed that all the files are only A, C, D#, and F# each one is one note in 5 different octaves.

Scaler2.0b7 cubase black list fix:
Copy essentia.dll,libsamplerate-0.dll files next to your cubase
executable (Cubase10.exe)
Voila, you can reactivate the blacklisted Scaler2.dll plugin. Have fun!
