How to add Pianoteq Portable to VST-host (DAW)
Open the DAW settings and add the PianoteqPortable \ x64 \ VST \ folder (or PianoteqPortable \ x86 \ VST \ if the DAW does not support 64-bit plugins) as an additional plugin scan folder. For details, refer to the manual (manual) of your DAW.

I think it will take between 5 and 10 years for these virtual instruments to become unrecognizable from the real ones.
With all the new physical modeling techniques that exist, it only takes a few good A.I. programs, capable of reading and analyzing millions of documents, thesis, PhD jobs, algorithms, etc, related to acoustics... and a virtual trumpet, sax or French horn should 99.99% sound like the real instruments.

Also, with those A.I. programs, we should be able to play a note on our favorite (analog) synth... modulate it, mangle it, etc etc... and the AI program/ plugin should be able to generate a sound 99.9% similar to the one played, with the exact adsr, modulations, oscillators, filters, effefts, etc etc.


Producers will be able to listen to a sample, or song, and in 1 second, they will have the exact same sound at their disposal.

And that day, we will look at our 500GB-2TB piano libraries... and will say ' WTF ! '

Playing sax on a keyboard will never sound real as the sound is affected by the intonation of the player, it's a unique sound, Just like the vocalist's mouth and cords.
You can try Audio Modeling's software with a wind controller but even so, it won't sound 100% as these controllers don't work exactly the same as the original mouthpiece and reed, thus need practice and "fine-tuning" to get close but never the same.

Overall it's great. The Marimba is about the only one that isn't quite right and missing the body of tone otherwise the rest are good.

Nice share! Downloaded the PC version and it's pretty phenomenal! Does anybody know if this will work on a Raspberry Pi 4? I'm considering making a portable rig... I have see that people have gotten this to work on a Raspberry Pi 3...

This is the most important tool for a pianist I ever saw, simply perfect, works anywhere.
1- Drop an entire any 'piano concerto' and choose only the piano part, set a slower tempo to 0.8x to slow down and fell the fast arpeggios, giant scales or "copy&paste effects up and down the piano frequencies" that is the most common task used by all kinds of composers.
2- You can STOP and use the right arrows to work as a conductor, so you can see what notes are playing.
3a- Choose the Excellent Blütner/Bösendorfer piano and the space Hall you want.
3b- Render just the piano part you want to mp3, then put on a pen drive to listen carefully.

4- Build your own midi playlist to hours of music.

Drop any midi files directly on any part of the pianoteq, no need the search throughout boring folders, download midis from web, from chrome drop direcly on it, spacebar to play.

In the past years, that was a hard task to listen the piano part of famous concerts, first was needed to open on a music notetion and the erase all orchestral parts, then save as midi to be opened on a Daw with Kontakt.

Now, things works in a shot, just drop on any part of the pianoteq application.

Believe me, one day all those terabytes of samples you have, will go to the trash, the future is SAMPLE MODELING, we'll have an entire Full Orchestra, Drums, Winds, Horns, Stradivarius better than we have today.

Now we have a perfect tool to listen to the part that interestes us. God save these guys.

I fully agree, Once in a while you come upon a piece of software that does everything you expect and more. This is it. Brilliant! And remarkable, given the small size. I usually try to buy those little gems to support the developer, but this is simply too expensive for me.

Incidentally, Pianoteq 7 is out with some nifty improvements, like morphing and layers. There is also Organteq, a remarkable depiction of a pipe organ. I tried to post a request, but for some reason I can't find a way to start a new thread in the Requests section. If someone would do that for me, I would really appreciate it.
