The programmable 6-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer released in 1981: Polysix.

Everything from Polysix has been completely reproduced: the 1VCO (with sub-oscillator) /1VCF/1VCA/1EG configuration which enables a choice of SAW/PW/PWM waveforms, the chorus/phase/ensemble effects, and performance functions such as chord memory, arpeggiator, and unison.



The software enables versatile sound creation with enhancements such as 32-voice polyphony (max), up to 16-voice unison (with detune/ spread function), flexible external modulation settings, MIDI clock synchronization for the modulation generator and arpeggiator, and a spread function that adjusts the spaciousness of the effects.

In the further designed and refined Polysix of KORG Collection 2, there are now two additional multi-effect units, a new sound browser, and new preset programs.

I get a message saying that this is a 32bit .dll and not 64.. someone else getting the same error?

yes, but it only happens in Cubase. In Ableton it works

Ah yes, I had similar issues a while ago with KORG plug-ins in Cubase. They all got de-activated, or 'black-listed'. At the time, because of the word "de-activated" I thought there was an issue with product activation, but it wasn't that. Here's how I fixed it...

Go to Plug-in Manager, click the "Blacklist" tab, select the plug-in(s) and click "Reactivate" button at the bottom. That worked for me.

Shame they (appear to have) removed the polysix synthesizer graphic so you only get this generic P6 coloured control panel and not the graphical synth anymore... weird move, didn't update the sound in anyway for modern times but made the GUI worse... hmmm

I assume they wished to mainstream the GUIs so that they looked similar from plug-in to plug-in and device to device and that's the easiest way to do that, especially once you throw in the ability to resize the window.

I loved their previous GUIs and have always been drawn to softsynths that look like the hardware they're trying to emulate, but I guess that's considered too retro for graphics design these days. I really dislike some of those ultra modern GUIs though. Take ToneBoosters, for instance, I liked their older GUIs, but not the newer ones... & Why would they create a tape/saturation effect that's designed to add 'analog', warmth or dirt and apply it to an ultra clean interface?
