Between DMG Audio's Compassion and Expurgate plugins--both sinfully smooth and savagely intuitive--I have things covered in the Sidechain compression/volume area, but I still feel that I should give this a shot; keep my options open and see how devious this machine actually is.

sidechain compression and volume automation are two completely different things, besides you can fake lookahead here and avoid clicks like you would have with normal sidechain compression. For 4/4 sidechain emulation, volume shaper and all other volume automation plugins are much more precise

I don't think I've ever used a volume automation plugin. Which plugin type is THIS release and which of the two techniques is best for 90's Hip-Hop and R&B(NOT EDM)? I need to get better at eliminating masking of the kick by the bass(guitar or synth).
Learn how to make tight, radio-ready mixes with the STOCK plugins in your DAW. After that, THEN you can horde out!

@rhino: I understand that (though I don't understand why you made it sound as though clicks are inevitably going to occur with SC compression,) but I don't use any extreme volume automation, like the type you see in various forms of EDM/electronic music. My usage is fairly tame. I would mainly be using it--heavily--as a ducker, since sometimes the classic compressing-the-bass-to-make-room-for-the-kick sounds better with just the volume ducked, not having the bass actually compressed. I know a lot of Hip Hop producers (the people who *actually produce the tracks, not create them,) use SC volume ducking instead of compression, including, from what I've read, the guy who produced Dilla's stuff, which is why it has such a clean, yet soft, distinction between the percussion and melodies. Or, you can go crazy with it like some of Apollo Brown's tracks which duck the melodies, *massively, every time a kick or snare hits; it's abnormal sounding, but it fits some tracks.
That being said, after playing with this for a bit, I found that this is a very capable little plugin--quality.
