With KONTAKT 6, you can sound like a snare drum, a symphony orchestra, or anything in between, from a universe of sampled instruments. It’s a simple sampler when you want it to be, and a deep sonic scripting laboratory when you need something more. The next generation of the world’s favorite sampling platform gives you new instruments and new features under the hood – so you can layer, link, stretch, and shape your sounds any way you can imagine.

• FIXED In some cases, Dynamic Fonts would be the wrong color after loading a new instrument
• FIXED KSP: Kontakt would crash if watch_var() was used with a ui_control variable
• FIXED KSP: Certain GUI elements on already released Libraries (e.g., Una Corda) would appear one pixel narrower in 6.0.2 (related to the ui_switch control)
• FIXED The Replika Delay feedback parameter would jump to 100% after a sample rate change
• FIXED Quick parameter changes on the wavetable module would cause audible artefacts when not coming from the built-in modulators; now, all parameter changes (including using the GUI, automation or direct KSP parameter access) are smoothed more effectively for better sounding results

Release features:
0. Does not integrate into NI Maschine and Komplete Kontrol!
1. Installation, including additional software (Service Center, Native Access, MS VS C ++ runtime), is not required.
2. All settings are saved in the portable program folder (Windows registry and other system storages are not used, administrator rights are not required *).
3. The Library Manager is integrated, providing full control over protected libraries, as well as allowing to register unprotected (self-made) libraries without generating nicnt-files.
4. The possibility of simultaneous work with the installed version of the Kontact without conflicts and with different settings.
5. No activation of protected libraries is required.
6. Ability to edit password-protected scripts.
7. The possibility of resaving with samples patches protected libraries.

Notes:
* Requires (super) administrator rights if the portable program folder is placed in protected system storage (for example, in Program Files) - such a location for portable programs is unnatural and is not recommended

In case you want to load your old projects or template with the new Kontakt:

1. In the \ Kontakt6Portable \ Kontakt \ x64 \ VST \ folder create three copies of the Kontakt Portable x64.dll plugin
2. Set these copies for the names: Kontakt 5 .dll , Kontakt 5 8out.dll , Kontakt 5 16out.dll
3. : In the same \ Kontakt6Portable \ Kontakt \ x64 \ VST \ folder, open the Settings.ini file and add these sections for new dll:

Settings.ini

[Kontakt Portable x64.dll]
PluginId = Ni $ D

[Kontakt 5.dll]
PluginId = NiO5

[Kontakt 5 8out.dll]
PluginId = NiO6

[Kontakt 5 16out.dll]
PluginId = NiO7

If your old vst files have different names, rename respectively and add these to setting file:

No WE do not wait for anything of the sort. These Kontakt portable versions and especially the Library Manager are the ultimate user friendly renditions of Kontakt. They work flawlessly and max respect to whoever cooked them up

These used to work flawlessly for me too. For some reason, they don't work anymore at all. The Kontakt process just hangs. Even if I load the plugin from inside any DAW, it will simply load the process in background and crash DAW. I really wish it worked because it was awesome when it did.

Any ideas on why it would've suddenly decided to stop working? I downloaded and installed multiple versions after 5-something-something. They all do the same thing.

Your overall system has degraded including your DAW. Just reinstall OS and start again.

KONTAKT LAUNCH FAIL IF INTERNET CONNECTION BLOCKED BY FIREWALL
Since 5.7.1 Portable on my Win7 x64 no 64 bit ver. of Kontakt will work if my firewall is on and blocking Kontakt. Either Disable firewall and use VPN or pull your internet cable AND disable the Firewall. That is easier for me than altering Kontakt entries in my firewall (a free German one named Free Firewall). This may not be a factor for Windows or other Firewalls. Many people report this. Probably a lot of people just don't block it or work offline so they don't notice it. It still fails in K6.0.2 x64 if the firewall is Enabled. I translated and pored over all threads posted by the P ver dev for many months after the problem appeared and found almost no mention of it. I haven't checked there since about K6P appeared.

The issue has never been addressed fully technically anywhere I know of and I have found no full discussion of it by any release dev and they seem to have accepted it as unfixable as there is a workaround by disabling the firewall.

This happens with the x64 ver. only for me. The 32 bit dll doesn't seem to care if the firewall is on. It happens with Portable Standalone and DAW via DLL and with firewall enabled Studio One 3 will not launch. The launch fail problem happens if Firewall is enabled even if the internet cable is unplugged.

In early troubleshooting with 5.7.x ver I found after about 2 weeks the problem goes away but then it returns. With later ver. I stopped testing for that. I do not use the Symlinks, just the main installer and I rename the dlls to include the version number.

It might be possible to analyze the outbound access and block those domains in a DNS Block List for anyone running their own DNS server or using the DNS blocking feature of their VPN such as Windscribe which just added that feature recently (called R.O.B.E.R.T.) for DNS domain blocking. I have not tested ROBERT as I use a local DNS Server block list. However I imagine Kontakt would see that as as no different than a firewall.

I think Godfather R2R has stopped making Kontakt version after 5.6.
dont know why ! just hope he comes up with 6 as many libraries dont work on 5.6 anymore

Is that the cracker who makes these? Pretty impressive I gotta say. It's been a long time ever since we saw a release made by a group, and it looks these portable versions work well enough.

So for some of the 5.x portable versions, users said that for whatever reason the software connects to the internet or something like that. But this only started happening at some specific version, I think it was 5.73? So how is it with this one, does it work, and does it try any shady stuff?

Thanks for this : ) This library helper is an awesome tool.
Is it possible to make scrolling in the library browser (in Kontakt, not Library Helper) a bit faster, somehow? In Kontakt 5 it was more sensitive and I don't know if they just changed it in Kontakt 6 or it just how it works in this portable version. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

EDIT: I mean scrolling by mouse wheel scroll, when you drag the scroll handle itself it works just fine.

How to transfer settings and libraries from Kontakt 5.7.x - 5.8 PORTABLE to Kontakt 6 PORTABLE

0. Close all copies of Kontakt 6 PORTABLE, including VST plug-ins.
1. Copy the UserData folder from the root folder of Kontakt 5 Portable to the root folder of Kontakt 6 Portable.
2. Open the copied UserData folder, find the Kontakt and Kontakt subfolders there. 5. Delete the Kontakt folder. Rename folder Kontakt 5 to Kontakt
3. Open the Settings.cfg file in the copied folder in a text editor, find the line [Kontakt 5], replace it with [Kontakt Application] Save changes.

Sadly this version does NOT have the fixed GUI. It still says Kontakt Portable when you use it on the left side of the interface above libraries. The 6.0.2 version has just KONTAKT :) Can you fix this GUI please?>
