DAWCassette, DAWLP, Degrader & GotoEQ are 64-bit only.

the jbridge app has worked great for me for converting 64bit only ones back into 32bit ones.

Speak up, Fam. What else is good here? Like most(if not all) of you, I have PLENTY of plugins for EVERY possible audio recording need imaginable. But all plugins are NOT created equal and THIS is why we all have 30+ parametric EQ's and are rarely using more than 4 different EQ's on any given project and then we're probably using the SAME 4 on the next project. We take 30 and narrow it down to 4 based on what we're SPECIFICALLY doing with them AND how well they do that specific thing. Maybe we are using 2 surgicals and 2 for tone/character. Or maybe 1 surgical, 2 tone/characters, and a nice M/S. These 4 parametric EQ's are the "best sounding" AND/OR the "most versatile" AND/OR the "most CPU-efficient" AND/OR the "best-looking GUI" out of the 30 that we've amassed AND religiously UPDATED over the years but we NEVER really backup and THROW away any of those 26 that we don't ever use anymore.

I think you see where I'm going with this. My DAW(SPlat) is pretty good at automatically organizing my plugins into nice little categories like "Reverb", "Pitch Shift", "Drums", "Synths", etc., but it STILL often takes a long time to scroll thru all of the plugins and God forbid that the plugin starts with the letter "W" or "X" or WORSE. HaHa!! So I've promised myself to do a better job with "plugin management" which basically means burning most of them to a 50GB BluRay disc and DELETING them from the startup drive.

So, are ANY of these plugins HERE "must haves"(plugins that do what NO other plugin can do) or even "2nd place"(plugins that are the BEST at what other plugins also attempt to do), "3rd place"(plugins that inspire you to ultimately produce some CONTENT), or "runner-up"(plugins that are so popular that you're almost FORCED to get them JUST to make fad-indulging clients happy)?

Thanks in advance!

I agree with you about how we tend to collect plugins, and some time, you "fall" on one of these plugins that are there collecting dust, you open it and suddenly it inspires you...
That does not happen very often, because we use the plugins we are comfortable with, specially if we are shot on time, but when it happens it's pleasant.

For all the time that you spent to formulate your thoughts and wrtire this comment, you could've tested it yourself. Just saying...
Anyway, yes - there are at least a couple plugs that at least worth some attention. But they're a little "exotic", to be honest.

I think AND type at speeds approaching VERY old vampires like Marius de Romanus.

BUT, [exhales in frustration]...................... since you DIDN'T spend any time "to formulate your thoughts", you failed to mention WHICH of these 15 "exotic" plugins that you tested are "worth some attention"?

can't speak for if any of these are "must haves" according to what anybody's "better-than-the-rest plugins" standard is... but after having spent a bit of time with these klevgrands this weekend doing some weirdo sound design test sketches(i.e. like running 50db+ sine wavs through them(to see if any kind of inherent saturation is built in), modulating+automating all their params in ableton clips, and then rearranging the plugins in various orders just to see what strange cool sounds might come out the other side.. all the while occasionally rapidly turning the tempo up to 999 and then down to 20 for good measure lol),

my overall thoughts are:
brusfri, dawlp, dawcassette, roverb, vandelay, kuvert, haaze... are probs the unique ones to keep around in terms of "you can get interesting/unique sounds out of these fairly quickly/easily".

the remaining ones are more for "normal" use cases i guess although i did get some cool distortions out of the esspresso one, since i was kind of abusing it.

honestly the rc-20 retro color plugin by xlnaudio (or even speakerphone by audio ease) does a much better job than the dawlp and dawcassette - and d16's devastor2 is way better, imo, than the klevgrand degrader - which to me, sounds pretty "basic".

just my old sound-nerd-dad opinion but if one is a true grit sound explorer/designer then there's no such thing as having too many effects at your fingertips for inspiration - and one can never get enough saturator/mangler/wobble/tape-lp-grit style effects when trying to master the art of a 100% believable inside the box recreation of those uber gorgeous, unpredictable, sometimes crappy but living breathing and often sought after old analog gear sounds.

The "are these any good," bit always struck me as odd. I don't know what kind of music you make and what your tastes are, so I don't feel that there's much anyone can tell you unless they're in the know. They're free; try'em out.
As I would always rather music, I *make myself go through any new plugins that I've acquired before making music (unless I have a king-hell bout of raw ideas,) and, if they lend something new or unique, I'll keep'em around. Other than that, in the trash they go. Even with S1's image previews and perfectly organized effects section (for me,) I still can't abide five thousand plugins clogging up my flow.
That being said, I agree with juztaphon,
quote by juxtaphonmy overall thoughts are:
brusfri, dawlp, dawcassette, roverb, vandelay, kuvert, haaze... are probs the unique ones to keep around

as some of those are the ones that I use the most, and have used most recently. All of their plugins are quality, but I doubt anyone will use all of them as go-tos.
Just my two cents....

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to try out all of the plugins, free or not, and THAT'S why I ask other professionals whether or not they think plugins that I haven't used are "any good". Since I'm asking pros(people actually USING the plugins), it's already implied that while ANY plugin can be used in SOME manner, I'm interested in the PRACTICAL manner. In other words, NO professional wants to use an eq with harsh, unnatural-sounding curves, so THAT plugin would NOT be "any good". Likewise, NO pro wants to use a poorly sampled piano sample library when they're trying to play or record typical pop songs. And likewise, that pro would be extremely appreciative to his fellow music-making community to hear, "Naw, leave it alone because that piano sounds like shit unless you WANT a piano that sounds like shit.". Pros don't have the time to go through ALL plugins and then categorize whether or not the plugin is any good for its INTENDED purpose AND if it possibly has UNINTENDED sonic benefits. We tend to go STRAIGHT to the plugins that have INTENDED sonic benefits and do them really well EVEN if it's a weird effect(SoundToys, saturation and distortion plugins, etc.).

So it doesn't really matter what kind of music a person is making when they're GENERALLY asking if a particular plugin is quality or not. They are simply asking, "Does this plugin do what it's supposed to do better than average? Does this plugin use a lot of resources(CPU, RAM, drive space, etc.)? Is this plugin relatively easy to use or is a huge learning curve required?

Just to be clear to everyone, the reason I'm involved in this community is because I REALLY value the collective experience, expertise, and knowledge of the community. I believe that everyone has something to offer and even though you may not know how to reverse-engineer code or hack your way around software firewalls, you may have used a particular piece of software for a long time and therefore you ARE an authority in that regard with SIGNIFICANT value to the community. I thank you ALL for what you bring to this community!

some newer version of plugins already released several times ago?

In any case you should delete old ones and install this bundle. It is all installed as all-at-once. Either old ones updated or not, you get brand-new Degrader and DAW LP plugins.
Pay attention, don't delete instruments. This is only FX bundle without Instruments.
