Independence is the ultimate sampler workstation for professional music production in the studio and for live productions - Independence Pro and Independence Basic also available now. Independence's Audio Engine has been redeveloped and improved, it now contains the Time-Stretching & Pitch-Shifting options. Using the innovative Multi Core support you can specify the number of kernels on your computer should be reserved for Independence. This ensures that Independence has the highest amount of CPU resources at its disposal, causing problems for other processes.

NOTE
Our release includes both Basic and Professional installers. You need just 2 discs if you only want to install Basic library.

Disc 1-2 : Independence Basic Library
Disc 1-9 : Independence Professional Library

You need to install Independence Software first. Otherwise, library installer does not work.

which version of the professional library is it ? there's the pro standard, plus, and premium

  Member 16.02.2014 106

Standard - Library = 2GB
Plus - Library = 12GB
Premium - Library = 70GB

Download is about 38GB - If they managed to compress it 2:1 (which is rather a lot for audio, but possible nevertheless), that would make it the premium…
Only guessing mind

Haven't installed yet, but the whole thing un-rared is 69,71GB so I guess we're talking Premium here

I don't get it clearly.
So it's a sampler like Kontakt but with an included library?

in short, yes,

install the "kontakt-like software before you load the libs, as stated in the description

thanks for your reply, but in short too if you know, what's the benefit of this over Kontakt and the dozens of 3rd party libraries available everywhere?

I'm not interested in this, I was asking because back in the days, Yellow Tools was a good sample-based synth.

my opinion is, if you already own massive, diva, or omnipshere and (good) orchestral libraries, no reason to double them
  Resident 4.10.2013 6 641

exactly that is what I was trying to say...
thanks

I hardly see a better sampler plus libraries than Kontakt nowadays.

To know if there's a better one you have to know the other ones.
So, what you mean is: from the ones you have used, Kontakt is your favourite.

That's a valid opinion for the ones you have used. Wich doesn't include the amazing Independence whose library is being shared here.
You should test it thoroughly.
In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In practice, they're not.

I tried this one many years a go and deleted. Its old library, there is no benefits. There is many much better alternatives for instruments. When it released that time it wasnt bad may be but today its just waste of HDD space.

I agree, Independence is like a downgraded best service engine.

I was checking the examples and I won't even try it.
Nothing in comparison with modern tools available today.
It's curious from the MAGIX side, still supporting this.
Seems to be a quality company, actually was the first company I've used around 1998.

yeah, Magix has always been - as far as I know - a bad copy of the professional tools for the masses : cheap photoshop, cheap video editing, cheap DAW / tracker...

they were useful maybe to learn the basics, beginners tools, but they also were one of the first "large audience" company on the market.

their target remain the same, that can explain why they don't focus that much on evolving technically speaking : they don't need to :)

It's not better than Kontakt... it was always a pain in the ass and unstable as hell after updates. Some great libraries were exclusive to this machine but in the end... it wasn't worth the aggravation.

I disagree.
Independence is really a great option for the musician who doesn't want to sound like every other musician on the planet.

Good luck with that mindset... while you're here downloading everything that everyone else is!!!!!!

No point arguing on the internet.
We don't know each other and everyone can say whatever they want.
No one knows s**t about anyone else, so, no point in providing detailed replies or experience based in facts.
In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In practice, they're not.

Guys, there is no need to go personal ....

Right!
Just as i said: "No point arguing on the internet.
We don't know each other and everyone can say whatever they want.
"

Glad you agree with me.
And no, this is not a personal thankyou. It's a virtual one.
In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In practice, they're not.

Keep in mind that you can manipulate the sounds in Kontakt as you like...
If everyone just loads presets and touches NO controls, your argument would be good.
It's kind of "A Lamborghini can go slow, but a Yugo can not go fast" thing.
BUT of course for loading and finding "different stuff" right away, this would be good too.

Not having much luck installing this on a Mac
The installer wants me to insert the volume "Independence Pro Bundle" in any drive or chose the sourcefolder. I've tried all the folders in all the install root, including the root itself and mounting the DVDs, but it wants none of it !
Not sure what's going wrong here. I'll look at it again tomorrow with a clear head

Worked for me through Best Service Engine:

https://audioz.download/software/win/47646-download_magix-best-service-engine-unlocked-v210186-vst-rtas-au-standalone-32-64bit.html

You could try.

On a Mac, you have to install Independence Free then run the app. So far, the content is installing. I am only going to do the Basic Library install to see if it works and check out the sounds.

It installed but requires a serial which is not provided. Deleted it.
Thank you for all your hard work. I appreciate it.

Hey Kingchubby.
Could you please tell me how you got the libraries to install on Mac ??
The installer in the download doesn't work.
Independence are can load libraries, assuming they're already installed.
Same goes for Best service engine.
I have 9 iso DVDs full of .ytif files that I can do nothing with :(
I must be missing something huge somewhere !

1. Find and install a copy of Independence or Mac The only one I found was the free version and it only lasts 7-30 days, depending on whether you register it or not.

2. Unzip files on Disc 1 of the library, then run the app. Choose whether you want to install the Basic (12 Gb) or the Pro (70 Gb) version. Once you choose which version point it to the corresponding folders on Disc 1.

3. The install should run, but you need a serial which is not provided if you ever wish to run it past 30 days.

Good Luck!
Thank you for all your hard work. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the info. I think this may be a High Sierra issue with the installer, as I never get as far as what your'e saying. Perhaps I'll try the PC installer…

I have this (huge box with all the CDs) and i have to say, yes, I do love this! Why? First, all the quality/resolutions of the sounds are constant and excellent! If you are into World and Film this would be very good as there's tons of great sounds.

First of all Independence Pro originally was by Yellow Tools, the German based company, then many years ego it was sold to, or was taken over by MAGIX, I have the original box from Yellow Tools and the latest one from MAGIX.

Yes, you'll need the Independence Pro Player to use the library, this will play your other Best Service libraries if you have.

When R2R released those MAGIX titles at the beginning of May, I was hoping that Independence Pro version 3.2 would appear among them. Maybe they thought that nobody was interested in this sampler any more.

I love this software, this and Native Instrument's Kore are among my favourites and long shall they both live (on my system anyway)

Anyone know if this includes the old Yellow Tools Percussion stuff? I bought that eons ago and they stopped supporting apps that worked on newer systems, so I no longer have access to those samples. I used the hell outta of 'em back in the day!
P.S. I think I still have my Yellow Tools libraries somewhere, just nothing to play them thru.
