You should specify the operating system you're using, at least.

A thought: It could be your antivirus messing with it. Turn it off when installing warez. Also, have you tried running it as administrator? Right click menu "run as administrator".

If anyone can help, I have added the files to the host (maybe not correctly) I've done this once before but after having my cpu cleaned I can not get past the exe this time around as it constantly has a pop up saying you need to add line below to your hosts file, any advice is greatly appreciated

best method is to copy the host file to another location on your drive

Edit the copied host file with the IP info from R2R

Save this new host file

After copy and paste the new host file to where the old host is

When asked just overwrite old host file with new one

1. To do so, copy the HOSTS file to your Desktop.
2. Open the copy from your Desktop in Notepad.
3. Make all necessary changes.
4. Next, copy and paste the file to its original location.
5. You will be asked if you want to overwrite the file. Choose Replace the file in the destination.
6. Windows will ask for Administrator permissions. Click Continue.

There seems to be a problem in the R2R's setup with the check up of the hosts file. I tried some of their previous recent releases and they install fine. This one doesn't. So I had to unpack their setup and install everything manually.

It does appear that it works for some people, though. I don't know how. I tried a lot of different things with the lines in the hosts file and I couldn't make it work in XP and W7. I added multiple lines, tried adding empty lines in between, and tabs, and whatever... nothing made it work.

Hey, I just had the same problem,
you need to manually add
127.0.0.1 www.r2rdownload.net
to your hosts file.

Seems like R2R made a mistake since their .cmd only adds .com and not .net

Worked perfect! Just copy the hosts file to your desktop, add the .net and copy and replace it back .

You know R2R it is a bit embarrassing that your installations still fail for many people due to not having those fake R2R websites blocked in the "hosts" file, even though the lines that block those websites are there.

I just tried installing this in my XP and it always says "missing lines in hosts file" even though I made absolutely sure they are there and even your little CMD script says it found those lines! I have never visited those websites and I never will anyway. This feels like being punished for something I've never did, or like some of those really bad, dodgy, copy protections.

Aren't you able to write a proper check up? Because your CMD script works properly and, one more time, it says it finds those lines in the hosts file.

It doesn't work in W7 and XP. Interestingly, your other releases work! But not this one. Usually you just need to run the CMD script as an admin. So how do I go about installing this? There are ways... time consuming ones. Oh... complicado grande.

I'm going to spend next hour trying to install this, instead of doing music, and I will succeed, without having any additional lines written into the hosts file in any of my systems. I can guarantee you that.

if you're doing something, do it properly. If you can't do it properly, don't do it. Write that on your wall R2R.

Rockfile doesn't work for me even though I disabled the ad-blocker for them. It's been like that for a long time. Their web programming guy sucks big time. They often have stupid problems like that. No way I would pay them for the service with a poor programming like that. People nowadays only know how to eat fast food and play Crysis.

I've unpacked the setup.exe and installed everything manually into all of my audio systems. Took 10 minutes tops. Job done. Works! Happy camper!

Thank you so much! Now I know how to do it for other R2R releases without much trouble.

The keygen works. So the problem is only with the setup. Unpack the setup.exe with the Inno Setup Unpacker and just copy the appropriate DLL and factory presets into the VST and AppData/Revealsound directories overwriting the old ones.

Just search for the Inno Setup Unpacker, and you will find it. The latest version is 0.46. It's a command line tool. The command used is innounp -x setup.exe I already prefer this method to the "normal" one... wonderful! :P

The problem is that you should to write with .net and .com the first domain... read the error message, they said .net not .com

Hey - thanks for the tip!
I downloaded Inno Setup Unpacker and it took me a while to figure out how to use it, and now i can separate the presets from the installers for AoN if I want.
Do I want to? No need really, for these Spire installs, but I've run into others I'd like to and this may come in handy!
I had to figure out that setup programs with spaces need quotes around the xxx.exe, and it works fine to use quotes always.

So I just copied the innounp.exe to my "system32" folder so the system can always access it, and made a default .bat template with the -dEX to make it extract to a new folder named "EX", and added "cmd /k" to leave the window open so i can see what's happening.
For anyone doing this I made the .bat like this:

innounp -x -dEX "Setup Spire v1.1.14.exe"
cmd /k
--------
If you do not want to copy innounp.exe to a system folder (or add the path in system config), you can just have innounp.exe in the folder with the install program and it will work.
