Introducing Digital Performer 9 - Artistry and engineering in elegant counterpoint
Exciting new plug-in processors, a powerful synth and many workflow enhancements headline this major new upgrade.

Spark your creativity, then refine your mix — all in a singular workflow. Digital Performer 9 delivers inspirational features devised to ignite your creative muse, combined with state-of-the-art studio production technologies engineered for the most demanding, world-class recording and production environments.

MX4™
Mega MultiSynth with new EDM soundbank
Meet the 64-bit instrument plug-in powerhouse for your Digital Performer desktop. Inspired by legendary subtractive synthesizers, MX4 combines several core synthesis techniques in a unified, hybrid synthesis engine that delivers fresh and vintage sounds alike. As you explore its many banks and hundreds of presets, you'll soon rely on MX4 as your "go-to" instrument. Fat basses, nasty leads, analog pads, vintage electronica — it's all at your fingertips and conveniently saved with your DP projects for instant recall.

Seven new plug-ins for DP9
From vintage compression to mega synthesis,
you'll use these plug-ins every day to take your productions from initial inspiration to final mastering.

New for 9.5: ZTX PRO™ Technology — Cutting-edge audio time-stretching and pitch-shifting DSP developed and refined through years of advanced, state-of-the-art R&D by the renowned engineering team at Zynaptiq GmbH (zynaptiq.com). Get ready to be blown away by how good it sounds.

New for 9.5: relative pitch editing — A new pitch editing layer in the Sequence Editor allows you to graphically transpose any audio material up or down by interval using a draggable pitch bar or a pencil tool for fine-tuned pitch correction, adding or removing vibrato and so on.

New for 9.5: Effect Performance window — Monitor the processing load of all currently instantiated virtual instruments and effects plug-ins in your project. Identify and manage plug-ins that impose high processing demands on your computer. Sort by name or processor load. See the exact bar and beat where each plug-in peaks. See which plug-ins are running pre-gen versus real-time, with hints as to why plug-ins are currently running in real time.

9.5.2
Changes:

Allow studio configurations of up to 1024 stereo busses.
Allow adding up to 1024 bundles in one go.
Improved efficiency for projects using Quicktime movies as Quicktime-related threads are terminated for inactive Chunks.
Improved click stability in Countoff and Countoff-Wait modes.
Added sorting code to work around the fact that macOS High Sierra is no longer guaranteed to sort files and folders in alphabetical order.
File import now does a case-insensitive check of file extensions when deciding whether the type is allowable.
Added option to reveal Chunks in the Chunks window after importing via the "Import" and "Load" menus.
Fixed a bug preventing track folder hierarchies from being preserved when dragging a sequence from the chunks window into the tracks overview or sequence editor.
Fixed a bug where opening successive effects windows could leave the effect GUIs offset from the parent window.
Fixed a bug that intermittently prevented plugin bypass UI elements (bypass button in plugin GUI, italicized name in insert strip, etc) from reflecting the true state of the plug-in.
Fixed a bug preventing ProVerb to correctly display the state of the bypass button.
Movie audio is now silent when its output is set to "none".
Fixed a bug where the submenus to send movie audio output to new bundles or new aux tracks would not appear.
Set Movie Start Time can now be assigned to a command.
Fixed a bug that would cause exported plug-in MIDI outputs to be duplicated.

this is one of those apps that i never see any convo about.
which makes me wonder why.
it's worse than samplitude, at least i can find stuff about that ( and that is a rare thing).
it looks like a big one to take on. i would be curious to read users opinions?...

My brain is not wired to cope with this DAW.
It is also very rude for my eyes (fonts point 4 in light gray on less light gray, come on Motu !)

But I still hope producing something within it before I die.

lol
this criticism i have seen several times now so i guess the GUI thing is a real problem for some.
i don't have the best pair of eyes so don't want to be squinting. as someone who is a hopeless software addict.. i still need to try it.. just once : )

ok, i couldn't help myself.
i installed ,... and it really is a pig in a poke.
the graphics are a nightmare. i am really suprised at just HOW bad they are. the text is virtually illegible. looks as if they are cramming to much into the screen , but even popped out they are to hard to read. their is a really awful aliasing problem to which means icons have jaggies etc... i can't believe that a company with their reputation are selling this. i went to the forum where there are LOADs of complaints with one guy saying he ordered some special glasses from his optician. imagine doing that just so you could use some software. anyway, it's coming straight off now. almost as disappointing as when i first tried Protools. tee-hee... Samplitude will have to bear the burden for me...

This thing is prehistorical... It was for mac only then was badly transfered for windows
May be it's useful for very slow computers?

the interface is too complicated and there are so many regions with badly rendered text some of which is practically illegible. from what i could tell it's a steep learning curve before you can really start to make music in it.
from the brief go i had, it does seem like a traditional NLE like avid or somesuch so i can see why people use it for scoring. but for everyday user like me, it's to much.
