It's a wonderful replacement for Acid IMO especially since it's working as a VST, too. It makes me so tinker-iscious! I wonder who cracked it so nicely?

I should mention that having R2R's keygen is very helpful as you can register it with a serial, although it's not necessary, but there is also an R2R little tool that helps when you cannot install it fresh. Do you use it w/ the controller or without?
I've been very curious about this for integration with Reaper, for Ableton-like Pattern arrangement/jamming or so. However, many forums have folks stating that it is kinda useless without the controller.

I have the controller but it also works without it. I use Reaper as my main DAW and use maschine for drum patterns and jamming. And yes the controller is nice but you can just use a midi keyboard and mouse. Its not worse to navigate then any other mini DAW. And some stuff like browsing is easier with the mouse, and also editing synths and stuff of couse. So either way you will use the computer. So try it out and if you end up loving it you can get a controller as a suplement. Its more of an add on to a great little jam DAW then a nesseserry tool for using it. But of course some will swear that you MUST have the controller to get the real experience but for me its not vital.

Do you think it succeeds at making reaper more non-linear (patterns [like FL], sessions [Ableton], blocks [Reason], scratchpad [Studio One]). I know Reaper has Playtime, but it just feels more like a workaround (or simply "prepared" jamming) than an arrangement workflow or quick hashing of ideas.

You don't need any previous version of Maschine to install this update. Just download the R2R's keygen from my link and use the Maschine reg tool in it before installing this update.
