TAL-Sampler is not just a sample player. It's a full featured analog modeled synthesizer with a sampler engine as sound source, including a powerful modulation matrix and a high quality self-oscillating 24/12/6 dB low pass filter.

It's a major change.
I also think it's a free update, by the way.

With Semantic Versioning (I know that TAL doesn't use it) e.g. incrementing the major version number is quite common; it's done every breaking change.

Poikosoft is much more changelogmaker:
for example, they release 2.0, then 2.0.1, then 2.0.2, then 2.0.3, after that 2.1.0 is the sum of these 2.0.1-2.0.x changes. Sometimes they do these small updates and call it 3.0.0.
TBProAudio does for example 1.2 after 1.1 with "small bug for Sonar x86 fixed" or smth like that, but huge changes are in 1.2.1 after 1.2....don't understand them..

This is a really great sounding sampler and a very usable synthesiser. You only have to know how to use it, which is rather simple and be creative with it. It only looks simple on the outside...

The only thing that is in the way for me is the FX section that I never use. It's only useful for previewing, so to speak. There are so many great delay/reverb/chorus/phaser etc. plugins one could use instead.
