Plugin installers
Besides providing a portable zip archive with plugin binaries for manual installation of plugins, we now have installers for Windows and Mac to facilitate an easier installation and updating process.
Read me!
Prior to updating your existing plugins, please be informed that:
Locations where plugins will be installed may change when using the provided plugin installers, and you may need to copy existing key files for v3 plugins into the folders indicated below, and include these folders in your DAW plugin search path.
Barricade v4 and Morphit v1 have different filenames after installing the update. If you have existing copies of these plugins on your machine, we recommend to keep these in parallel to the new ones for compatibility with existing projects.
On a Mac, plugin names can be a bit persistent (in particular for Audio Units), resulting in old plugin names to remain displayed after the update. You can resolve this (use at own risk!) by clearing the Audio Unit cache. This is done by removing the cache file in the following folder: ~/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache/.
Activation codes for Barricade v4 and Morphit v1 should continue to work after the update.
We apologise for any inconveniences caused; we do however believe that these changes will facilitate easier installation and updates in the future.
Installers and plugin locations
On Windows computers, these installers will install ToneBoosters plugins in the following folders:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2\ToneBoosters\<ProductName>\ for VST2 plugins
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\ToneBoosters\<ProductName>\ for VST3 plugins
When installing 32-bit versions on a 64-bit version of Windows, plugins will be installed here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST2\ToneBoosters\<ProductName>\ for VST2 plugins
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3\ToneBoosters\<ProductName>\ for VST3 plugins
If you have existing plugins that operate with registration key files (all v3 plugins), please copy your existing key files into the respective folders given above after running the plugin installer.
