The update includes the following improvements and fixes:

•Improved the On-Screen Keyboard’s color legibility based on user feedback
•XY Pad: Individual cursors can now be hidden via KSP ($HIDE_PART_CURSOR)
•The customized string representation of parameter values in XY Pad is now shared with the host correctly
•Updating the value of a cursor from within the control’s callback is now reliable in XY Pad.
•No longer any potential crashes when trying to view the Host Automation tab with certain NKIs loaded
•Crash when trying to view the Infos (sic) tab of the Instrument Options dialog with certain NKIs now fixed
•Certain NKIs no longer trigger the “Really quit…” dialog every time they were closed

No, only the newer libraries require the newer versions as far as I know.

Generally: The newer the library, the newer the Kontakt version needs to be.

Hi friends!

I have a working kontakt 5.0.0 that I don't want to delete because I have libraries which I will lose if I do. My question is, can I run this portable kontakt 5.6.6 together with this new one WITHOUT altering the older one I have installed? Will it "confuse" Nuendo when searching for plugins?

Hi Dr. Volume, tahnks for answering. Would you care to elaborate please? What will happen to the 5.0.0 full kontakt if I use this one? How can it be used inside a host program like Nuendo? Will Nuendo "see" 2 kontakts? Will it crash or anything?

Please, let me know if u have an answer since I won't run this until im sure...

I run Kontakt 5.5.2 alongside (and simultaenously) with Kontakt Portable 5.6.6 updates to 5.6.8 in Live 9.7.3 (64x) without issues.

It seems different scenarios work for different people. For me I had to run the installer of Portable version and install it on a non-OS but internal HDD. Also in the beginning Abletion gave error messages about 'undo history' so I finally reinstalled Ableton and now all is working fine.

Kontakt portable is a must. Simple, just open the winrar file on any folder of your choice out of C:// and you don't need to install nothing else, everything on the other Kontakt version you have will stay the same, they do not relate.
Before anything, block with your firewall or get free PC Tools Firewall.
If this Kontakt installation doesn'tt work, go Microsoft and just install the small 'Visual C++ 2015' , to avoid 'Msvcp140.dll' error.
Remember that it will not work in the same partition of windows C://, choose D:// ; External drive X:// or a Pen-Drive.

The advantage for me is that I can take a pendrive and my 10 dolars USB cable to any studio and work on computers that do not have 'Kontakt', so I avoid to install a new one which takes a lot of time, so the portable is practical and agile in these cases, of course I have the current version installed in my own.
I think [portable] means this, otherwise registering each software on the operating systems serves to prevent piracy and send statistical data to Microsoft, Apple, so that they know which software the most used in the world, so can also invest in the stock and shares of companies . For us, the side of mortals, ex.: every registered software and increasing '*.dlls' inside Windows, leaves it every day slower. I would like all applications to be portable, but of course, safe.

I couldnt do the 1st time.
But all we need is to install everything on the same VST folder your DAW uses. All the files, not only the VST. When the russian menu asks for a directory, you choose your VST FOLDER.

I ran this while admin in FL studio, and all I kept getting were russian errors I couldn't decipher. :'( It wont work at all.

Just follow steps

1. Start

If this works, it is a life saver, for some reason I couldn't install any working Kontakt 5 on my Windows 7 and with the Rain Man type of install instructions on the latest releases, it looked like I would never have access to Kontakt again.
