Bitwig Studio 1 was hello, world! Version 2 brought program-wide modulators and CV integration. Version 3 saw the birth of The Grid, our modular sound-design environment. And for version 4, new musical timelines have arrived.

This means comping for audio clips, both in the Clip Launcher and the Arranger. A new set of Operators, for changing the chance, recurrence, and more of any note or audio event. Random Spread for any expression point (like per-note pitch, or audio panning) with perfect control. And Native Apple Silicon support on Mac, even allowing Intel and ARM plug-ins to work side-by-side.

What's new in 4.3

Your Sound is Going Spaces
Our new device, Convolution, can take any sound anywhere — even places that don't exist. All convolutions imprint your sound with an “impulse,” and ours comes ready-made with 270 of them, ranging from 12th-century cathedrals and legendary studio effects to more abstract “environments.” Using the impulse of a room or hall creates a realistic reverb, but Bitwig's Convolution and content offers so much more.

Fashionably Late
Delay+ is Bitwig's latest boutique audio effect. By balancing familiar controls along with a few thoughtful new ones, Delay+ can either add a little character or fully transform your sound as it ping-pongs along.

The New Face of Polymer
Polymer and The Grid use the same modules, so when something new comes along, everybody wins. For Bitwig 4.3, some analog-inspired goodies have arrived.

Two modules are new. Union is an oscillator that plays it straight, blending three waveshapes into one pleasant, drifting output. And for filtering, Low-pass MG honors Mister Moog by imitating both his classic filter and mix buss.

Topping Off
As always, a few more new features came along for the ride. For example, FX tracks now have sends of their own. And yes, direct feedback routings are available — and clearly labeled (Achtung!). And the ADSR module gets a lot of use, so why not add a “bias” out port for a bipolar signal that centers around sustain? Good for pitch or anything that might want a little drift.

Whether it is recording settings, lyrics, or performance notes, comments can be freely added to tracks, layers, Arranger cue markers, and Launcher scenes — just start writing in your language. And by distributing our Linux build over Flatpak and supporting PipeWire, many distros will have a smoother experience with Bitwig, including Ubuntu users. And maybe even Steam Decks?…

Bitwig Studio 4.3 supports the CLAP plug-in standard.

Not everyone uses the program the same way, I never opened In Cycles demo project, don't use The Grid and tons of stuff, maybe some of the stuff do trigger the protection.

Hmm. I have an iMac and a MacBook Pro, both running 10.14.6 Mojave.

Installed this on both, used the same download for both, followed the directions. It runs fine on my iMac, but it won’t open on my laptop.

On my laptop, I get the welcome screen for about 10 seconds, then it simply disappears and the program quits.

Any suggestions to get this working on my laptop?

Hi all, I just would to to inform you there is in fact a timebomb in this version. I experienced this Morse code beeping after working on a large project with lots of automation. If you are not experiencing any timebomb good! But please be weary that it is there and seemingly random.

I would also like to add that you may be able to recreate it if you are curious. When I installed Bitwig I blocked all connections using a firewall, and I changed the name from flare to JNeuro in the activation file and it authorized successfully. After working for a few hours it timebombed. Maybe the name change had something to do with It? I had 4.1 (this version has never timebombed on me) installed previously however I uninstalled with bulk crap uninstaller before installing this version. Use caution with this release, just because you haven’t experienced it does not mean it doesn’t exist.

i never had problems in this one or in the last cracked version (i used the MAC and LINUX versions)

A viable thesis, however that is not not a definitive nor scientific answer as to why I and several other users report a timebomb. 4.1 never timebombed and the name was changed. 4.3 timebombed and I never changed the name. This one has done it as well however I’ve changed the name. I will not be subjugate time to diagnose the exact cause of this issue. I will not converse with you any longer. Goodbye.

Unfortunately, the time bomb started for me too, but I only have this problem in the In Cycles project, I don't trust this version anymore, I think that FLARE can't crack Bitwig, because all the versions it released have problems. Undoubtedly, the only team that can do crack correctly is R2R

It's working without any issues on my side.
I'm using grid and native fx too.
As I wrote above, last version had random time bombs.
This version is flawless.
I did change the default username too.

There's something weird going on.
Did you block the internet ?
Maybe it's calling home and then triggering the timebomb.
Are you on Windows too ?

I've used note grid stuff, tested all the presets, made my own too, It's working fine.
That's why I said It was weird.
I really don't know what's going on. Did you clean the old version files from appdata? Backup those files and do the clean install.

I delete the previous version with a very powerful uninstaller and I don't get any backup, how many times have you done this test? If the time bomb doesn't start, do it again, the first and second time the time bomb may not start, but after several tries, it will start working, and know that you need to create a midi clip with some notes and notes. Yeap, I've been using note grid for 3 days. Today I was working on a track for 5 hours. I have more then 28 tracks, I didn't get 'timebombed', not even once. So yeah, unfortunately I have no idea what causes it on your side.
I'm using old windows 10, Version: 20H2.

They are doing all they can, you can rent to own it via Splice which is amazing, they were giving away 8 track left and right so you can upgrade from it when there's sale's, which are few months away from each other, just recently there was crossgrade offer for users of other DAW's from Plugin Boutique, they even introduced full functioning time trial version on top of their regular demo policy, they teamed up with different vendors to give discounts and software gifts to potential and current users, only thing they can do at this point is to remove the time bomb.
