I agree with every reply here. If you can buy it, you probably should, because literally nothing in the same vein currently exists, and this is such a tremendously useful tool to check how your mix sounds and actually have a shot at mixing music well on headphones without having to pay like thousands upon thousands of dollars for room treatment and monitors or wonder how your tracks are gonna sound at some venues or clubs. Big up dsoniq, big up.

No. This is not SoundID Reference.. The cool thing about this plugin is that it emulates a great variety of spaces with a great variety of monitors. Without profiles, emulation will be a little wrong if your headphones are overly colored. But you can revert the frequency response of your headphones with other methods like the autoeq.app site mentioned in other comments here.

And even if you had the opportunity to use profiles that came with Realphones, I'm not sure I would. Because there's people that have shared correction profiles through autoeq that use newer and better hardware with maybe even better results. But the differences aren't too big so there's that.

yes, I agree. I have tested the trial for some legit reason to test, and it doesn't print the sound the way it "simulated sounds" when you put it on the last Master Bus. Idk how it works, but it is amazing.

I have the legit version. There are function that make big difference without the eq curve like stereo field, HF "dampening", room simulation etc.

have Slate VSX, probably blows all these out of the water, but then again you need the headphones for the accurate response. I feel they are well worth the money since it's a combo of hardware and software and lifetime updates

It doesn't, it's like saying Apple computers blow everything out of the water just because you are forced to use few machines and their own OS, those are perks, but there's more to it than that.

VSX cans on their own aren't nothing exceptional, some folks even prefer it with Realphones correction and simulations. Realphones was doing whole this way before Slate, what Slate does good is that it has this user friendly macOS experience, on other hand you can tweak everything in Realphones, but later Realphones offered the same options too.

DSONIQ made custom measurements of all the cans they are supporting and they work great with Realphones, just as VSX cans with their software, but better the cans, better experience one will have.

But limited choices do have perks, but it's preference, as far as everything else goes, VSX isn't really superior at all.

VSX doesn't emulate headphones, it emulates multi-thousand dollar studio rooms and speaker setups. That to me is far superior than emulating headphone profiles. But i'm assuming you own VSX Platinum edition with all the rooms to really tell me it's "not superior at all" as if it's factual right? Everyone talking to owning VSX doesn't even mention this or any other room emulation like Waves because.....they are not as good. Show me what professionals use these?

Realphones does the same thing, it's probably what inspired VSX in first place, hop on GS, there's lot of talk about both there, people have been using and comparing both for years already, you seem out of touch with facts.

Slate pulled Apple on whole thing, made it more user friendly, focused on one hardware and software combo, lot of marketing to make it premium product, it’s whole Apple experience with this one, hardware is ok, software is good, but there’s plenty of better hardware options and all that, same thing Apple is doing for years. It’s good and focused solution, but it’s’ not superior, like any Apple computer over some other PC brand, especially back in Intel days.

As I said, you can check all that out, Realphones started this whole thing back in 2015, Slate did things their own way and made this premium product supported by professionals, same as Apple did with their whole eco system, that's why I compare it to them, because it's really similar approach to whole thing. Limited hardware, premium marketing, focused software, targeting pro user base and this ended up been industry standard for that reason.

It's like saying which professional doesn't use Apple, some don't, same with this, Apple didn't invented computers or OS's or anything, neither did Slate here, but what they did was really clever and on point.

You clearly showed that you think that Realphones is something like Morphit, so yeah, seems like you need to check your facts, who came first, who did what and what you are comparing here actually.

VSX is great product, focused, maintained, supported by industry and all that, same as Apple, you can't go wrong getting into it, but as far as superiority goes, let's not get that far really.

What I have done on this site, well, if you were here 12 years ago, you would definitely know, so calm down a little, if you can't have normal discussion about a piece of software without all this drama, then let's drop it.
