Bitwig Studio 1 was hello, world! Version 2 brought program-wide modulators and CV integration. Version 3 saw the birth of The Grid, our modular sound-design environment. And for version 4, new musical timelines have arrived.

Smart Splits for a New Mix
By working in the frequency domain, these devices split your audio into hundreds of frequency bands for analysis, and group similar elements together onto channels. From there, you mix the channels as you normally would ù adjust the volume, move the panning, or insert Bitwig devices and plug-ins to customize each level of sound.

Four Ways to Go Spectral
Each device targets a different musical element, allowing for subtle mix tweaks or creative sonic ruptures.

Transient Split
Divides percussive transients and tonal sounds. Stuttering only the drum hits in a full loop might be nice. Or separating instruments from percussion means mixing the way you want to.

Freq Split
Distributes a sound across four channels, like a set of filter banks. With random delay times and panning on each channel, we've got a spectral delay. Or use Bitwig's modulators to shuffle through a different effect on each channel to create a new kind of phaser.

Loud Split
Separates the quiet, mid, and loud elements within a sound. Cranking up the softest parts of a sound will instantly transform it. Or let a thin section of the sound ring out without breaking the mix.

Harmonic Split
Spreads harmonics into two groups and collects non-harmonics into a third channel. We could isolate the fundamental frequency and give everything else some distance. Or maybe distorting the even harmonics and adding chorus to the odds is the new cool thing?

Outer Spectra
Harness the power of sophisticated spectral analysis with Outer Spectra, the accompanying sound package to Bitwig's Spectral Suite. It includes over 70, mostly audio FX presets for Freq Split, Harmonic Split, Loud Split and Transient Split, and a few synth presets with spectral devices in the FX slots.

If I remember correctly, my issue was like this: a project made in patched, when loaded into legit, the audio engine could not be started. But I could see the tracks and everything. So I would copy from that offline project into a new project (using the legit version) and the new project would import all data including automation and would start and work normally.

I never tried to load a legit project into a patched, I don't think is a problem with that anyway.

I admit that for the initial price, add'ons buisness could a little bit to much. All-in-all, why not only pay for what you need? It would be good to see them acquired by some big company to give a boost to its development. But, for me, it's definitely the future of DAW.


Yeah, nice arguments! Also in my opinion the most discussion about this Spectral Suite *extra addon* is mimimi.

My hope, it is a test and if all works third party devs can release also modules! That would be awesome!

The time bomb is activated, select the note grid with a synth, try the note grid presets in order, leave the browser open and do not close it until the end, now try the presets in order, after selecting each song preset Play it, the time bomb will be activated

Just tried this and everything works ok, no timebomb here. I am on macOS 12.6.1 ... never got timebomb with flare release, and I am using Bitwig every day. Is there any other steps to trigger it except this?

I'm using Windows 10, and rest assured that I'm completely professional and it's not my fault, yes, when I'm working on a project, sometimes the ticking time bomb goes off.

I have no doubt about your professionalism. Just asking because maybe I am amateur after 22 years of professional producing and creating music. On macOS i can not trigger that timebomb if it even exist. But you are professional and as professional why not purchase it on bitwig.com?

Can you take a video of you triggering the timebomb, or maybe try completely uninstalling and removing any trace and reinstalling.

Got a Question: Does this Release work with all Packages that come from Bitwig? I can download them all witth this Release (including Spectral Suite)?! And no Bugs?

All packages (including 'Outer Spectra') can be downloaded. Once downloaded I've blocked Bitwig behind a firewall. New add-on 'Spectral Suite' is included in their 4.3.10 release, please read the FLARE's comment in the description "Our release also includes the newly introduced Spectral Suite. Enjoy!"

So far I have not encountered any bugs, nor a timebomb with v4.3.10 (In v4.3.4. sometimes the 'Audio Engine' crashed, which did cause a beeping sound, though nothing a simple workaround couldn't fix).

Yeah, I'm not downloading a video sent to me by some random claiming that it shows X. Perhaps you want to upload it to a streaming site where people can watch it publicly, without having to download it onto their machine?

Anyway, I've just done what you suggested. One instance of Note Grid, followed by one instance of Polymer running the preset A Cuppa Pluck. Four bar midi loop. Running on Windows 7.

I ran through all the Note Grid presets one after the other. I gave all of them a fair shake, but no time bomb so far. How long are you supposed to let it run for before it triggers? More to the point, how long did you run it for before it triggered? I've been running it for about 30 mins without it triggering so far.

In some of the pre-FLARE releases, I used to get a time bomb when I played a couple of the demo songs. There were just two songs that would trigger it, but a quick reinstall would fix it followed by just not playing those sounds was an acceptable work around. But that was back around 3.1.2. It's worked fine for me since then. Those demo songs would trigger the time bomb immediately.

OK, running it for a good 90 mins now. Still no time bomb. Do you have Bitwig blocked from contacting the outside world?

Rest assured the video is safe and has been sent to most friends in this post and they have commented on it, and if you follow the steps in the video rest assured the time bomb will activate, and yes, I blocked it and that's it. I tried the solutions, but the time bomb still activates

I can confirm that this timebomb exist. Same as you, i tried for a long time, but in my case, when i follow procedure from this video, everything was working fine, until i push STOP button. When try to press PLAY again timebomb activated. Before that, i was browsing through presets for over an hour, and everything was ok.
