Great! Now I'm going to produce a song using all 7K presets! Does Pro Tools allow me that many tracks?

This is compatible with Presets from v3.2 ?
3.2 - 2.70GB
3.5 - 560MB

What is the difference?

the 3.5 can obviously open the 3.2 presets

in this release THERE ARE NO FACTORY PRESETS

they are flying around in a different package to make the release smaller, as stated in VR's NFO, just read the NFOs

The V.R. Pigments release has no presets at all.

This is not true. There are presets as part of this install: Factory, Pigments 2.0, and Pigments 3.0. If you're not seeing them, something is wrong with your install.

Hi Ableton cannot find Pigments vst. This issue exists for every VR Pigments release I've installed. Anyone has encountered this issue before? The rest of the Arturia synths work ok.

UPDATE: Removing Pigments vst out of folder --> rescan folder --> put Pigments vst back into folder ---> rescan folder fixed this.

I've installed the 3.1 C.E. V.R. version and got the expanded presets- If I install this one over the top of it, will the previous presets still exist?

Neither this nor the previous V.R release (3.2.0), which had fewer issues overall, will save neither your heart-symboled "liked" favorites nor your "recently played" presets. You also cannot delete from favorites and some things are pre-favored in there. I'm not sure if these feature would really need on-line access so they were disable on purpose or the crack is buggy in this regard too. I'm inclined to think the latter given the distocontainer.xml snafu.

If you delete the three db.db3* files in C:\ProgramData\Arturia\Presets then Arturia will rebuild them in the background on its next restart. And "recently played" will work after that. But the "liked" feature is still bugged even with this fix. You work around that by not using it and creating your own Playlist instead, but it's a bit less convenient to add to that: drag and drop, instead of clicking the heart icon. Mkay, I finally found a solution for this too. You have to run Pigments as admin then you can add to and delete from the "liked" list. So you can at least clear that list. I'm not sure where that info is stored through. The db3 files are only a cache. There must be a master list of "liked" somewhere else but I can't find it. The Arturia forums have a thread on this, but all info there on this is actually wrong: the stuff after serialization::archive is not a "liked" bit but a refcount. It indicates that the file is included on some other list, like your own playlists or "liked". I still don't know where the "liked" master list is stored.

Ok, I found the actual problem. The files under C:\ProgramData\Arturia\Presets\Pigments\User\
are owned by the Admin group and normal users don't have write rights the way the V.R installer sets those up. You need either grant write permissions to all users or take ownership of that dir to your actual user. It's a bit daft that Arturia adds files that need user write rights under C:\ProgramData\ If you delete file there (lke the db3 ones) and let Arturia recreate them, it will add the current user to the list of those who can write those specific files it recreates. But for files that can't be deleted, you need to add the current user as having full control rights, manually.

The "liked" bit is stored in the actual preset files as a "master bit", but not where the Arturia forumistats thought it was, e.g. after clearing ARPULAR JAM as Admin from liked, Pigments changed the file as:

Comparing files OLD\Arpular Jam and ARPULAR JAM
0000007A: 31 30

That is ia bit further in the file than they thought. For instance that 7A offset is the "1" at the end of

22 serialization::archive 10 0 7 0 7 11 Arpular Jam 14 NETHERWORLD V1 22 7 turismo 8 Sequence 0 0 2 0 6 Simple 6 Analog 0 1

The offset will alas differ from preset file to preset file because there's variable length string before it. So the only reasonable way to deal with these is to let Pigment edit the files under the current user (without admin rights).

===========

Also, you can download the (actual) Pigments 3.5 library with 150 new presents from the official demo and add it. After rebuilding the db3 as indicated above, it will show up, separately from the 3.0 presets. Someone made a rar archive just with this and it's available on another site. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share a link to that here.

That's because the 3.2.0 VR release also had:

* - included 76 official & 22 third-party expansions

But the 3.5.0 release from them lacks these. They are included in a separate 4GB release (https://audioz.download/software/win/203711-download_arturia-sound-banks-bundle-20221-ce-vr.html) from them now.

Arturia Sound Banks Bundle 2022.1 CE

177 Arturia Sound Banks & 65 Third Party Sound Banks

Mind you, that pack still doesn't include the actual 3.5.0 presets bank (https://imgur.com/a/t3KjVId), you have to get them as I indicated above.
