[FREE] Kontakt Library Scripts [KiTTY] screenshot
KiTTY | 12.04.2021 | macOS | Shell | 9 KB
As Kontakt 5 is growing older, macOS users might have trouble using it to add Kontakt libraries.

I wrote macOS scripts that allow to manage Kontakt libraries without depending on old version of Kontakt.

Well KiTTY came and went but this gift will stay for some time and is definitely appreciated. If you're reading this KiTTY - Thank you.

-

"Could not parse ... try single-quoting" - If you get this, move the folder with the nicht file to your hd (desktop or wherever), then try running the command again.
I believe the script has problems patching libraries from external drives.

EDIT:
Tried running the script on a library from another external drive, it was all good.
So I guess there's a reason, but from one external drive it gives that "can't parse" error and from another external drive (same library) it runs well.

WORKAROUND: Move the folder to the internal drive, run the script, move the folder to an external drive, open kontakt, it will ask you to locate the library, direct it to the location (external hd).

I wish there was way less ego problems in this scene.

Happy New Year.

this is genius.

yea I got same issue on external drive

(edit)

I FOUND IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! If there's SPACE from name in folder that you located from your hard drive (internal, or extenal), error appear! try remove all space between folder's name on locations
(except kontakt library folder name)

hi, the scripts used to work nicely without any hiccups, but just today it's not working anymore and it says that the default interactive shell is now zsh. I'm not an expert of mac but i just want to ask if there are any updated scripts for this?

Thank you very much!

Yes, same problem here. I did some testing, this script creates two files XML (for service centre) and PLIST (for preferences). It seems to be that the problem is with the PLIST file when I compared a library installation using ISO.

Can anyone help? Thanksssss

I have an error, where as soon as I launch the .command, it says invalid Kontakt library. It doesn't even prompt me for input before outputting the error message... I am on a Mac M1, but I'm not sure if that affects anything or not.

Disregard! I solved it... I should've known what to do. For those having issues with launching the program, simply run with a sudo command in your terminal

Can you be a little more specific?
Just add sudo_?
Any more info gratefully received

My library has part1 to part23 .nks files.
How can I add them? This one is a bit older Kontakt library.
I tried running "Add Library.command" and shown the folder but it didn't appear in Kontakt. And There is no .ncint file for this library.

Can anyone guide me please?

Yeah it's definitely working for me on my MacBook Pro Frankenstein model.
A Mid 2010 17" modified with Big Sur.
That being the reason I can't use any Waves plugins right now. It confuses the plugins because it's not a metal compatible graphics system but yet I sees Big Sur.
So all my waves plugins do load up but with no GUI.
Whoa is me.
But KITTY's scrips is working A-OK!

Hi!

can someone explain me what i have to write in terminal, it does not work for me,... i am doing something wrong, ... i am on catalina

well when adding anew library double click on the add library script after you've placed the library in it's location. Then you'll get dialog to select that library. Just select the folder it's in then click enter or ok then Terminal ask for your computer's password. Enter your password, then the script does it's thing. Once it's finished click enter again and you're all done.
I hope that answers your question.

after selecting the library's folder, you need to click again on the Terminal window before you enter your computer's admin password, then press Enter, then when it shows Press Enter to Continue, just do it again.

I only get this message and don't know what to do:
"execution error: No permission to send Apple events to Finder. (-1743)
🥁 Invalid Kontakt library path
🎹 Press Enter to continue..."

Does anybody have a solution for this?
  Member 19.11.2020 11

I just type this command in the terminal before launching "Add Library.command" : "tccutil reset AppleEvents", it worked for me.

Help dear KiTTY, you're my only hope!
I ve been stupid enough to invest all my money into a Macbook pro on M1 processor and now I cannot add libraries neither with your code nor with kontakt 5.6! Will you write a new script which will work for M1 also? I have MacOS Monterey 12.2 and this script doesn't work on it =''(

don't be stupid now.
kontakt 5.6 not working for all at any version of macos.
you need kontakt 5.6.6 to add libraries without any problems.

if you can't find this version... use 5.6 and search for instruction how to fix snpid in library xml.

if you don't read comments...

- mount dmg
- run terminal
- type
sudo
and press spacebar
- drag'n'drop "Add library.command" to terminal window
- press enter...

OK, read comments and try again.
it's working now, great =)

Hey guys I've never been able to get this to work.

Circling back with Kontakt 7 released, I tried everything suggested in the comments

But still the only method that works for me is adding using Kontakt 5.6.

Anything that I've missed?
