quote by LoomsPrevious expansion will work on Mac after upgrade but not sure on Win.
Moving Lib to ext drive I never tried it but you could give it a shot with SymbolicLinker.

quote by IggySince it's a proprietary format, they're the same files whether on Mac or Windoze. I dunno if the v1.2.2 factory content works with this, though.

As for your other question, according to their site, the answer is "yes": https://www.vengeance-sound.com/faq_avenger.php

thanks to you both.
I'll give it a shot and let people know
have a great day guys

Installed and working here on Sierra (have not tested it in Logic yet). Seems a helluva lot easier than installing v1.2.2. Getting ready to install expansions now ...

When I open vps avenger in Reaper I'm getting a big "MISSING FACTORY LIBRARY!" Click next to proceed. The next button doesn't do anything. Any clues? I downloaded the factory content and its just one file (R5 Avenger content). I followed your instructions dropped it on the plugin, but it doesn't do anything, the next button doesn't work. I put it in the Users /Application Support/ VPS folder. Where does this factory content file go? Is the NEXT BUTTON broken? Let me know if you can, thanks.

A version that would ID with “VPC Avenger” instead of “VPS”, to coexist with the legit version, would make this entire Avenger saga complete.

You maybe able to do this with regknife. But this may take some trial and error.

Let me try to lay out the install instructions in an easy, straight-forward way that will hopefully make sense to everyone (especially morons like myself). Special thanks to @ricardusk for most of this:

1. Open Terminal
2. Type or paste: "sudo nano /etc/hosts" (without quotes) and then hit return.
3. Enter your administrator password and then hit "Return". The contents of your "hosts" file will now fill the Terminal screen.
4. Type or paste: "127.0.0.1 support.vengeance-sound.com" (without quotes). Hit "Return" to go to the next line.
5. Now type or paste : "127.0.0.1 vengeance-sound.com" (without quotes)
6. Now press the "Control" key + the "O" key.
7. Now hit "Return" to save.
8. Now press the "Control" key + "X" to exit the Terminal process.
9. Quit Terminal.
10. Install VPS Avenger from the installer.
11. Open the DAW or your choice. Load up the VPS Avenger plug. When the Avenger screen opens, it will ask to either get online to register or give you the option to register the software offline. Obviously, pick "Offline". A new screen will open, asking for the license file.
12. Drag the provided license file onto the GUI. You're now registered.
13. Avenger will now tell you that there is no factory content on your machine. Drag the Factory Content file directly onto the GUI, as well as any expansions. You can also import the expansions later on, if you want to. It will import all those files into the "expansions" folder located at "User (not 'System')/Library/Application Support/Vengeance/VPS Avenger/expansions".
14. Now quit out of your DAW and go to "User/Library/Application Support/Vengeance/VPS Avenger". You'll see the imported AVGR license file. Highlight it, then click "Get Info". In the "Get Info" box, use Administrator privileges to unlock the Permissions settings and make sure everything is set to "Read Only". Re-lock the Permissions settings. Now tick the box next to "Locked" in the "General" section of the "Get Info" screen. A tiny padlock icon will then appear in the corner of the file icon.
15. You're done. Enjoy.

Additional info:

- The Mac version uses the same content as the Windoze version. All of the expansions work.
- This version can load the 9GB factory + 15 expansions that were included wth v1.2.2. In fact, you can drag them directly into the "User/Library/Application Support/Vengeance/VPS Avenger/expansions" folder and they should automatically appear in your Avenger's preset manager the next time you load up the VI, as they were already imported by whoever provided the libraries.

everything (plugin, factory contents, expansion) works.
tried the R6 factory content with this release and except few patches 95% of them working well. Based on the error message, looks like 1.5.0 is in the pipeline.

thanks very much.

10.14 issue:
==========

on the mac osx 10.14 - mojave release - after installation found permission issues ïn the au, vst, vst3 plugin folder "Content/MacOS/VPS avenger" file and this was preventing the plugins from working properly. changing the permissions (chmod 755 "Content/MacOS/VPS avenger"; chown root:wheel "Content/MacOS/VPS avenger") solved the issue.

one more question : is there a way to get the expansions pack previously released with 1.2.2 to work with this version ?
I've tried create a new customer expansions and copy/paste the content, but it's missing osc/samples ..
  Resident 21.06.2011 4 924

You should just be able to drag those original v1.2.2 expansion packs directly into the "expansions" folder from the .dmg and be able to read them, no library import needed. They're already in the proper format.

You'll have to use Patchwork, since this installer only has AU, VST and VST3.

All is fine with logic 10.4.4 in Sierra 10.12.6
If you Had installed 1.2.2 version(like me) with old EXP you only need install plugin 1.4.10, the old key file keep working
Then add new expansions and voilá

I know, that's what I did the first time, but they didn't appear in the expansions window

EDiT : actually, what I've had with the 1.2.2 was expansions folders without the .avengercontent file extension, so I put them in the expansions folder at first, but they didn't show up.
I've tried the way I've mentioned above afterwards.
