Don't get me wrong, I'm really grateful for this, but I have the same problem with this as I had with v1.2.2: no clear install instructions. Let me show you what I mean:

"1. Add to host:

127.0.0.1 support.vengeance-sound.com
127.0.0.1 vengeance-sound.com"

I know a lot about my Mac and OSX, and have successfully installed a lot of complicated shit, even openssh, but I have no idea what this is referring to. From what little I can glean from all this, there is, in fact, another file that is not included with this install (the "host file"), with no address given that you can go to in order to download it, no explanation of what it is or how to alter it. I mean, I think I know ... after checking out two sets of instructions (the original is in Russian!) and going over the comments' section in three different download pages.

"After installation appears in the system settings, just prescribe the address"

What the fuck ...?!?

Is there any way to just post or include a clear set of instructions for us idiots who might not know what a host file is or understand the concept of "prescribe the address"? This seems like something that could be easily screwed up, even if everything were clearly spelled out.

you need to add
127.0.0.1 support.vengeance-sound.com
127.0.0.1 vengeance-sound.com
to your host file in the folder etc (its hidden)

(crickets chirping)

No, seriously, I think I may understand how to do it, but 99 percent of these come with basic, easy-to-follow instructions ... in English (the ones included with this are, once again, in Russian, and even translated, it's a bit off).

Thanks! I wasn't aware you could do it in the Terminal. But do you add the lines right after "255.255.255.255.broadcasthost"? Or at the very end of the list?

Well, having read through the links provided elsewhere in this comments section and Googling like crazy, I think I understand what the deal is -- the "host file" refers to a file that actually already exists on your system called "hosts" that's located via typing "private/etc/hosts" in your "Go To Folder" window, and you basically have to drag the "hosts" file out to your desktop (it can't be worked on in the original folder, which is protected), alter it by editing it in TextEdit so the installer or VI can't call home, drag it back to its original location, then, you install the Avenger software -- but all of that could have easily been explained in the instructions. How often does anybody edit their "hosts" file? How many people honestly even know what or where the "hosts" file is?

Anyway, it's the second part, "After installation appears in the system settings, just prescribe the address", that completely loses me.

1. Open terminal
2. type: sudo nano /etc/hosts and then hit return.
3. Enter your administrator password and then hit return.
4. add : 127.0.0.1 support.vengeance-sound.com (enter for new line)
5. add : 127.0.0.1 vengeance-sound.com
6. Control + O
7. Enter to save
8. Control + X to exit

Thank you again, got the list up in Terminal ... but as you can see above, I wasn't clear about where the two lines go.

(Edit: never mind, just followed your instructions exactly as written. You're a genius and I wish you'd written the install instructions!)

No problem :)
I can imagine it's a bit unclear and hard to understand when you have never done this before.

1. I installed this over v1.2.2
2. Added hosts
3. Opened Logic....and all is working...i did not enter the license and it says it is v1.4.10 and registered.
The previous keyfile must be the same provided for this version.

Now for step 4: "Next, go along the path User / User Name / Library / Applications Support / Vengeance / VPS Avenger and put protection in the properties of the AVGR.license file (right-click on the license, then select "properties" and put a daw in the "protection" )"

In regular English, this means, track down and select the license file on your machine after Avenger accepts it, open "Get Info" and lock it (switch all sharing and permissions to "read only" and/or click on the box next to "Locked") to prevent it being written to, right?

May I use Little Snitch to block addresses instead to do this in the file host (as I’ve just made for 1.2.2 version) ??

2 questions :
- will the previously released expansions work regardless if it's mac or windows ?
- is there a way to move the library to another hard drive ?
big thx anyways
  Resident 22.07.2016 151

Previous expansion will work on Mac after upgrade but not sure on Win.
Moving Lib to ext drive I never tried it but you could give it a shot with SymbolicLinker.

Since it's a proprietary format, they're the same files whether on Mac or Windoze. I dunno if the v1.2.2 factory content works with this, though.

As for your other question, according to their site, the answer is "yes": https://www.vengeance-sound.com/faq_avenger.php
  Resident 5.01.2015 1 664

1. Previous expansions work.
2. Move the expansions library anywhere. Then I'm avenger you can set factory libabry location under sys - content - factory library location. Done.
