ABC123 you only need to run the patch.command. It does the manual work below.

The patch folder contains the files that use to replace the binaries inside the app and the vst and au plugins. The binaries are the computer code. Then the patch.command codesigns it. At least that is what it looks like to me when I look at the patch.command. All honky dory.

Mac OS 10.13.6 High Sierra here ... I followed KITTY's simple instructions to the letter a few minutes ago ... Enjoying Guitar Rig 6 right now (Standalone + VST and AU on Bitwig 3).

did you use Xcode command line tools? where to get it from? how did you do it? can u walk me through a few steps?

Hi muzikboy!

1st Q.: Yes, you need XCode command line tools, because the KITTY script uses "codesign" which needs "codesign_allocate" which is part of XCode command line tools. I already had them installed because I needed them to install Homebrew.

2nd Q.: Install it using this command in the terminal: xcode-select --install ... or sudo xcode-select --install if the former doesn't work (you will be prompted to enter your User password - note that the terminal does not echo what you write, but you are writing it) - MORE info on how to install XCode command line tools here if you need it.

3rd Q.:
a) Check that you don't have the XCode command line tools already installed (it should be in SYSTEMHD/Library/Developer/CommandLineTools)
b) if you don't have it installed, install the XCode command line tools as explained above
c) Copy the content of the Guitar_Rig_6.1.1.dmg to a temporary folder
d) install the Guitar Rig 6 Installer Mac.pkg
e) in the terminal go to the folder you created in step "c)", and run the Patch.command
f) wait a while and ... Done!

Doesnt work on 10.15.7. I have command line tools installed and whenever i run both patches (standalone & patch command) a pop up always comes up saying "GR6 quit unexpectedly"

Basically I just followed the instructions, I don´t think you can do it wrong.
You just need the XCode command line tools installed.
Open Terminal and paste: xcode-select --install
This will install the necessary tools. After that you go ahead:

1. Run the Installer pkg.
2. Go in the Patch folder, run each command with terminal ( App, AU, Vst)
3. Open the "Patch.command" data with terminal (next to the Patch Folder)
