It moves, it growls, it brings sounds to life.
I did a master class with Michael Brauer, easily one of the most creative mixers ever to lay hands on a console. He told me he wanted me to stop thinking of compression as dynamics control and start thinking of it as a form of movement.

UBK-1 is most definitely the result of taking that advice. I have way too much fun with its squishy mojo, the way it aggressively smacks sounds back into place, making them pump and move like living things.

Not every sound needs to be blown up, so I use the multiple parallel paths for subtle warming and sweetening effects. The headroom knob lets me adjust every stage's intensity at once, making it enjoyable to experiment with all the colors it has to offer... and the UBK-1 has a lot of colors to offer.

I see that RTAS isn't available in these cracks. Is there a chance it will be?
some of my friends would jump a hole in the ceiling if it were.
these plugs certainly add all the flavor you look for, I bought them a year back and use them constantly.

Be careful with those ceilings that you got only one.

As for RTAS use a little imagination or . . . BlueCat Patchworks 1.7
whichever suits you best.

Anyone successful running this in ProTools? I'm using the recent PTHD10 over here. Opening in Patchwork or Plugin Chainer gives me an ilok error followed by a crash. I tried using other installers directly from Kush (some of which included RTAS/AAX versions) but nothing seems to work.

Funny enough, it seems to open fine in Maschine. Big thanks to the guys putting in the time!

Those plugins (and most likely Kush / Altiverb) are similar.

This is true. May be a similar situation regarding the way ilok2 was implemented. When we see Pro Tools 11/12 or Slate stuff then we will know for sure. Still great work!

All of their Products are protected by iLok 1 & iLok 2. The only plugin that is protected
by iLok 2 is "The Clariphonic DSP MkII"

So yes, it looks like this is a huge step!

Not all iLok-protection is created equal.

Look at New Years Eve release-page for Lexicon plugs for details on why some iLok2 stuff can be cracked... but NOT all.

I'm really hoping that openssh has made a huge breakthrough here. On one hand it could be more of the same "bad iLok2 implementation" but if that's true, why didn't Hexwars take a shot at this stuff too?

Maybe cause they have a life? What the heck do you think, that it takes a couple hours?
If they decided to start working on iLok, you wouldn't have seen a single release for any other plug from them.
Time involved to reverse such a protection is just insane. And also, maybe they just don't have the amazing skills openssh have, so they could've failed if they tried, why not?
openssh totally devoted all his free time to reverse iLok/ProTools for the last year or something more.
Would be so nice if all leechers would put a fraction of the time/effort to bring something to the community, or at least stop bringing noise.

Last year I hired a bunch of newly CompSci graduates to spend all day emulating Wibu key and reading through a billion lines of decompiled code from unpacked binaries. Money well spent.

Point taken copylefter and my apology goes out to the community if that came across as if i was whining and unappreciative. Heck, I don't even use a MAC for music stuff. I do know that it takes countless hours to crack this stuff but on the other hand I don't profess to know a lot about the cracking process (it takes me an hour to just do a binary compare ) And since I don't know a lot, I mistakenly assumed that maybe the process for cracking these iLok2 programs was similar enough that it wouldn't be all that difficult for them to do other software. As I said, my mistake. I try to be one of the good guys here. I appreciate all of the effort put forth by all and I actually "try before I buy".

What and were is the /usr/lib/ just to be sure ?

Just click on finder and on the top you will se GO TAB that click there and select GO TO FOLDER and paste this path into.. /usr/lib/
Before you do that, copy original lib file into safe place in case something goes wrong and make a recovery before doing this!!
