Akaizer is a freeware application for Windows / Mac OS X / Linux which can time stretch and/or pitch shift any WAVE or AIFF sound file in the style of the 'cyclic' time stretch, which featured on old Akai sound samplers, like the S950 / S1000 / S2000 / S3000 series. This is ideal for DAW-based music producers who want that classic metallic-sounding effect, as used in many old school Hardcore / Jungle / Speed Garage tunes from the 1990s, without the need for an actual Akai sampler.

BTW, i can't understand exactly what kind of effect this program does, and as there's no audio demo on the site, could someone please tell me a song (or songs) where this kind of effect is used ? THANKS!.

I could be wrong but this is how producers times stretched before recycle had rex, Ableton's warping, Acid and all other the modern day methods. its probably a lofi grainy sounds that breaks up the higher of a BPM change but its sounds old school and that's why its sort after

exactly. it reproduces the algorithm of the old akai samplers. grainy timestretch, perfect for jungle and more styles.

It sounds similar to the old granular timestretching in Ableton Live. Very metallic.

i think FL is able to produce such time stretches with the Sampler.
i think abletons wraping is a way to clean now for that kind of sound ...

Never ever came to know such a tool existed... It might still come in handy in some cases, despite the fact that it's only standalone (meh).
There's even a CLI version on the official download page, me haz liked =D

I really love the CLI version!

btw. "SoundTouch" timestretching in Reaper sounds kinda similar, too... some of the worst timestretching algos sound interesting like that. :)
