i find it really hard to go 'back' to these oldschool style eq's without analysers. since i use the visually aided eq's out there, i don't think i wanna go back. can you name some pro's and/or con's?!

visually aided eq's are helpful, but you should use your hears.

it remind me that dj nowadays ( taktor etc) only use the sync button or the visual bpm numbers to beat match songs (, before that (vinyl)you really had to use your hears.

im not agaist traktor or visually aided eqs....

I use a visually aided eq (channel eq) for boosting single harmonics of
a static sound. (and i want so see on a display how much Gain the Resonance
of my filtering produces!)

To give you a pro paraplu020 ... if you have a midi controller or
automap thenyou have six easy (with few parameters) controllable EQs with
5 different operational possibilities. (sorry for my bad english)

The preQursor has a highpass-filter, 4 Bell-Bands with STEPPABLE frequencies.
This gives the intruments in the mix a more "console like" sound compared
to EQs with a fine tuneable frequency range. IDEAL for track coloring with
a wider Q and cancelling frequencies with a high Q.

For Problem solving there is the ClassicQ and ClassicQex with fine tunable
freq range. The ConsoleQ has 2 shelves and 2 Bells. For Drum
Seperation for Example. You can do the Pultec-BD-Trick with this.

The RetroQ is similar, I would call it "OldConsoleQ: a Highpass,
Low-and High-Shelf-Filters and a Bell.

I got my best results with this EQs by PSP. ;)
