The Sonoris Parallel Equalizer is a minimum phase parametric equalizer in VST, VST3, AU and AAX format for Windows and Mac. The plugin is suitable for mixing and especially mastering. It has fixed filter types on each band and band 2 to 6 are connected in parallel. The filters are build in a feedback/feedforward manner to provide cutting and boosting, like in analog graphic equalizers. Band 3 to 5 are constant-Q bells and 2 and 6 are shelves. Band 1 and 7 are low/high cuts and connected in series with the rest.

Parallel filter topology
The main feature is that this eq is a lot more subtle and needs more work to set up right because there is some interaction between the bands. In normal series connected eq’s the gains of two bands just add up but in a parallel eq it doesn’t.

The filters are parallel to each other as well as the unprocessed signal and this makes that if you have for example a low shelve boost and switch on a low freq bell boost too, it just doesn’t do much more. You can’t easily overdo things, but have to work harder to get it right. Also, the signal path is cleaner because the filters al work on the same input. The filters have correct gain up to Nyquist.

Processing modes
Besides working in stereo, the Parallel Equalizer can also process audio in M(id), S(ide), L or R mode.

Display
The plugin has a large graphical display that shows exactly what you get. The size of the plugin can be changed to your liking by dragging the lower right-hand corner.

Getting a "damaged" message in all sonoris k'ed. Anyway to fix it?

They all work fine on Sonoma, M1 here in Logic .. I had to make sure I'd sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine & sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - all the K'd components before moving into relevant folders and then gone through the slightly laborious process of disabling the network, generating a challenge code by running the plugin, opening & copying the first line of the code from challenge.txt into the keygen and then closing the plugin and opening it up again for the response file to be magically gobbled up from the desktop and deleted - then close the plugin and re-open and it's activated. I also get a damaged once when opening one of the plugins but when I had deleted the previous challenge that was left on the desktop and opened logic and tried again .. it loaded and worked

Let's just say that RET is bang on the money when it says their activation process is a bit tricky 😀

It's a bit of a joke really - I'd heard such good things about them in a sound on sound review ages back I wanted to try them out for a month and then actually buy the mastering ones .. but after this hassle I'm not so sure I can be bothered to go through all this again lol

This plugin mutes the sound from time to time.
It looks like a time bomb.
Also a similar problem with the Sonoris Mastering Equalizer .

MAC Catalina. All plugs do not issue challenge.
They instead try to open website (which i am blocking w lil snitch)

anyway not possible for me to produce a challenge code.

Any fix would be appreciated THX

Hey all, try the following - it worked for me.

1. Before installation, if you had a previous installation of these plugins, or if you installed this one incorrectly, be sure to delete the .settings file located at User-Library-Application Support - “The Plugin Name”
2. Install the plugins one at a time.
3. Be sure to delete the challenge file created on your desktop after each installation.
4. Follow original instructions by RET
