XILS-lab polyKB III v3.0.2 MacOSX-R2R

This update fixes the logic 9 crashing/validation issue. Thanks R2R, so appreciated.

Doesn't work on my MBp 10.8.5 in Protools HD 10.3.4, "missing iLok" message on PT opening check.

Hey Sam333, there IS a VERY specific place where you need to put the CONTENTS of the "Library" folder....

(and this can get VERY dangerous with a question like that, not in asking it, I know what you are asking.... in that some users these days might not know how the library folder works, what R2R means, (there is a modicum of OS understanding they assume)... (and no help from Apple by hiding it by default these days in later OSX's etc....)...

The contents of the folders R2R provided are to be put IN those respective folders, NOT meaning to overwrite your whole library etc...

I am not trying to be condescending at all, and understand your question, and can see how the information and files provided by R2R could confuse some inexperienced to either the inner workings of the OSX or not used to applying these kind of workarounds etc... Just be VERY careful with what you are doing, and make sure you don't overwrite anything critical to system functions etc...

I suggest backing up your system before venturing into this world (I do myself ALL the time), and learning a little bit how the OS works, and reading some of the other threads here or at sister site to get the "gist" of how all this works... It's not that tough (and R2R and the devs etc did most/all of the heavy lifting!), ..... but I would hate for you to screw your whole system up by accident.

i posted this in another thread regarding Xills stuff trying to help another member, so maybe this will help you out as well:


(ALL of this takes in to account you have made your Library folder visible under MacOSX....)

let me see if I can run through it for you...

1. you put the au/vst files in their respective locations in your audio plugin folders

2. you have to go to your Library, and JUST and replace the files included by R2R into the XILS-lab folder (NOT OVERWRITING IT, JUST dragging the contents INTO said library), do the same with Native Instruments/Service Center if you are inclined or may use the native instrument control surfaces at some point..(I am not sure if these are necessary for working plugs, doubt it, but they are small and why not,,,..)

2b. The reason I say just the items inside the folder presented by R2R is because if you are installing all of these or own other Xils products, you don't want to overwrite their respective items.... so just put the PolyKBIII.vst in the VST24 folder, do NOT overwrite... (I am emphasizing this a lot because I could see this creating confusion)! :)

3. Then do the same within your "Documentation" folder in library folder, again being careful to just drag the items per install INTO folder, not REPLACING folder...

4. drag the correct item INTO your Preferences folder... (the .plist file)

and you should be good to go! Just be careful not to overwrite any Folders....

perhaps try and batchmod it? I don't use LogicX a whole lot anymore, but I see lots of posts talking about having to do that with it...
