LEGENDARY TRANSPARENCY
Pulsar 8200 is a faithful emulation of the legendary GML 8200 designed by George Massenburg*, the inventor of the parametric EQ. Full EQ control is a formality today, but it was a dazzling novelty back in the days.

Just like the original machine, Pulsar 8200 gives you a tight and solid low end, a crystalline high end, and surgical control over the frequency spectrum. He perfectly replicates the all-discrete, Class-A analog electronics that made the original machine famous in the 80s, and still used today.

Its parallel topology, coupled with unique filtering shapes, allows an intuitive and unique spectrum shaping, resulting in smooth curves, and a more natural result compared to classic digital EQ, maintaining its own β€œanalog personality”.

RELEASE NOTES
We don’t do Intel versions since they’ll be obsolete soon, and making a U2B version takes extra time. Hope y’all understand.

I don't think the installed base of Intel Macs will go away soon.
Thanks to OCLP even 13 years old Macs are still running current MacOS.
Let's see if the M Macs will still boot in that timespan.

Intels are honestly obsolete and weak vs silicon's.. sorry but the truth is the truth
I had the best dual xeon intel Mac Pro and gave it to my daughter, her m2max is more powerful and portable.. and that's nothing on my m4max's nor my m3 ultra
can you use open core, yea.. is it worth it.. not really, they don't run current os's very well... just get a silicon and don't worry about the old intel stuff

the part that sucks is I spent 10k on that computer that's hardly worth 1000 today smh
last 10 years Ive probably spent 30k on computers

1K, not even close. The reason to keep a pro 5,1 alive is to run 10.14.6 and not a single .0.1 version later. Running newer MacOS so you can run newer bloated software to do the same stuff is a bad idea.

If you enjoy spending money like that, maybe you should buy a copy of Altiverb to supply. You still need all Sonnox, Soundtoys, and anything else you care to spring for.

You are VERY sadly mistaken & as a consequence are missing out on a TON of amazing stuff + incredible performance. So is stem separation bloatware? lol, running as many plugs as you like with no restrictions?, improved audio codecs on recent DAW versions?, I won't go on 'cos the list of improvements since those days is kinda endless but am pretty shocked at your ignorance.

Thanks Guiseppe, all releases are bangers. Keep it going with the gravy.

P.S.A. I installed the previous intel bundle, when installing this over it, Ableton (audio units) is a bit lost in loading the plugin (even after re-scan), if that's your case too, run the uninstaller that appears in the applications folder and then install again (base, format and eventually presets if you like). I guess one can do it manually with removing pulsar files manually at the start, but just in case there's some weird little file somewhere in the system that needs to be deleted and overwritten, I suggest using the script provvided with the install. I haven't checked other formats or DAWs, you might not need to do this. Cheers everybody.

I run a Mac mini 2018 8gb ram and I try all the new mac mini and is the same exact power.
Acctually I have less cpu spiks that any M computer and my projects work flawless , even with high count plugins and tracks.

But I guess is time to upgrade.

The current M2 Mac Mini has double the single core performance, and double the multicore performance than your 2018 Mac Mini - it's literally twice as fast in CPU terms alone.

Yes - Intel is a dead end on Macs.

Exactly. Intel is out of the loop in many ways. Not to mention the latest MacOS Sequoia will be the last OS to run intel. And it relates perfectly to what Apple said when the M1 came out in 2020, that they will keep supporting Intel for the next 5 years to come. And now the time has run out. The firstmovers were certainly a sort of betatesters, but now all software has settled and been perfectly optimised. You will see less support in the coming years, from both developers and k-teams. And you can find the most of what used to be Intel only on this site. And let's not forget, you can buy M4 Mac Mini's for nothing. These computers are powerhouses that will blow your Intel Mac totally out of the water. It's not just the 'big' models with many cores that has this power. In most cases it will mean nothing with many cores. it's architectural: Ram and processors at the same spot, meaning crazy low latency perfromance, and a high singlecore score is more important than high multicore, when it comes down to sequential processing of data like in real-time audio. In other words: The perfect music machine. I'd say the time to switch is now.

From what I see, you both bought Mac M. I did too, 3 times. M1,M2 and M4.
And yes, they are good computers.
But what Apple put on paper I personally don't see.
I have been working in music productions for many years.
As I already said , i opend my current Cubase project and the only thing that i noticed was that I have 8gb and the new mac mini have 16gb but the stability of my project wasn't there, too many cpu spikes. Not with my old Mac Mini. Rock Solid.

Anyways after the summer for the M5 I'll upgrade and hope for the best.

Be sure you're not running plugins in Rosetta (intel only plugins). That may cause overhead and spikes, especially with low buffer sizes.

I'm just sharing my experience with Cubase Pro and the new Macs, what's funny about that?

8GB of RAM??? high plugin counts? Intel? does not compute. An average mix I work on has more than 120 tracks & over 30 auxes, hundreds & hundreds of plugins & virtual instruments, your machine wouldn't be able to cope with this, the last intel machine I used had 16GB of RAM & it used to seriously struggle, I had to freeze all tracks just to avoid the dreaded system overload & be able to simply play the project. My current mac has 64GB of RAM & by the end of a mix it's not exactly taking it in it's stride.
