Just to be perfectly clear for anyone wondering, this is the updated vst3 version. It's no longer just for Ableton/Max for Live users. It also still contains the "Legacy" version as well.

Oh, and thanks to kontolatoz.

It was a unique Max for Live device back in the days and the VST might be useful to other DAW's than Ableton Live.

Ableton 12.2 just released their own expressive chords and strum MIDI device so it makes Leestrument obsolete.
Still useful for Ableton 11 or older though.

I'm on Win10 and FLStudio 20.9. Works perfectly. You get a white screen for about a quarter second or so when first selecting the plugin and then it works just fine for me.

This has no actual purpose that I can see.
AU didn't work on Ableton. Vst3 parameters didn't function. Max4Live device works but doesn't seem to be of any practical use. Thankfully I took 4 years of compositional theory before I left high school and only tinker with these things to see what they do. Learn theory kids. There's no replacement for knowledge.

You'd be surprised how many professionals with years of musical knowledge and theory use these tools...

The parameters of the AU are greyed out and they don't show any visual feedback when changed. The plugin still functions but the visual feedback remains unchanged until you close/reopen the plugin window; only then can you see the changes you've made.

Assume you are using a mac?

Saw this online:
1. Open Terminal
2. Type:
chmod +x
3. Type a space
4. Drop the file into the window
5. Click on the terminal window and press return.

I moved the files into the components and VST3 folders, did the above, but they do not show up in Logic nor can I see them when I open Blue Cats.

Tried that - got no such file or directory.
What did you rename the file to? Install.command?

Is this a bloat-free alternative to Scaler ?

quote by DalmationIs this a bloat-free alternative to Scaler ?

At first try this seems to not be about scales, but just about chords - so I guess a bit of knowledge about the various scales is helpful to know which chords to use. But there are also a lot of buttons that I haven't figured out yet and there seems to be no manual available

It's fun to mess around with if you just want a sketch pad for chords, he has certainly made an improvement over the first version. It's too bad its so expensive.

Just delete the sounds folder and scaler is 30 something megabytes. No need for other chord tools.
There is no knowledge that is not power.

Is the installer really necessary for this, or can you just drop the CHORDimist.vst3 folder into your VstPlugins folder?
  Member 3.11.2024 106

that is possible if you havent done it already. i just dropped the plugin in the vst3 folder

Great question.
I would like to ask it every time. The reason is to build a fully featured portable DAW (obviously based on Reaper). To the point that I often think it would be nice to launch a campaign on the site to introduce that installing vs dropping files info into the post info, under the image, besides the size and types ... Sometimes it would avoid bothering downloading.

It works in Cubase13 and Reason12 VST3 software but there is no sound

It is a MIDI plugin, not Audio. Put it before a synth/sampler plugin or route to an one.

Interesting plugin but $169 is wild price to support.
