GateMate is an innovative approach to a noise gate. A pair of plugins (Pre and Post) makes it possible to clean up the sound like never before.

The Noise Gate That Gets It Right
Noise gates are supposed to solve a simple problem, not create new ones or feel like a compromise. We wanted better. We spent months perfecting a noise gate that doesn’t choke your tone, responds naturally to your playing, and handles all the dirt and dynamics. The result? A gate that just works. No gimmicks—just performance you can rely on.

GateMate's main role is to provide a complete noise cancellation solution. To do this, you will find two GateMate Pre and GateMate Post modules. One is placed upstream of your favorite amp and baffle simulator, and the second is placed after. GateMate Pre cleans the incoming DI signal, and collects the data necessary for the proper functioning of GateMate Post, which refines the latest finishes.

On the GateMate Pre interface, you have a control of the amount of noise reduction applied. On the GateMate Post interface, attack and release controls (which you can automate) as well as a threshold control are available. A channel selector is also on both interfaces, you will have to set it to a common channel.

→ Key features:
• Innovative two-plugin solution
• Denoising
• Adaptive release

Supported Operation System:
• OS X 10.10 or later
• Apple Silicon or Intel Core processor

No it will work the same on your master

It IS made for guitar and amp simulations. Just watch the video. Doesn't make any sense to use it on your master.

Obviously you haven’t got a clue what you are talking about producing, mixing, mastering music it is a Gate it reduces white noise, noises and general unwanted sound below your max volume. It functions exactly the same as Abletons Gate would you can either use it on separate stems to get rid of unwanted noise or it’s usually put on the main or called master to finalise your track it’s not just for guitars lol

If you don’t believe me load them both up on the master on your own track and see for yourself it does come up green as in it’s connected and it works as a gate should

This particular gate plugin is clearly and definitely geared towards guitar, that's the point of using 2 gates that communicate. the pre gate cuts hum on the guitar input, and the post gate cuts the noise and hum from any amp sim plugins. It's a good idea, unfortunately it acts weird in Ableton, won't resize and ends up crashing or freezing.

There was another company that either made a plugin like this, or maybe it was integrated into an amp sim, wish I could remember. Especially useful for high gain stuff or single coils.

I'm not going to get into a silly discussion but if you read the details above it clearly says:-

GateMate is an innovative approach to a noise gate. A pair of plugins (Pre and Post) makes it possible to clean up the sound like never before.

and

GateMate's main role is to provide a complete noise cancellation solution.

It does not mention anywhere within the details "Gatemate is for Guitar use only"

What a weird hill to die on... good luck and God bless. One of my favorite movie quotes: "The less apt a man is to make declarative statements, the less likely he is to look foolish in retrospect"

While it isn't crashing for me on Win10/Reaper, the "post" VST isn't working. It'll sometimes say "connected" but have no effect/not show any input signal, and other times will continually switch between "connected" and "disconnected" every second or so (while still showing no signal at any point). Sad.

Is this better than Bertom Denoiser?
