The APU Loudness Compressor is a compressor/expander designed to support modern loudness types (LUFS, True Peak). This means the compression curve is a function of LUFS measurements instead of RMS or Peak. Since LUFS is a more accurate measure of loudness, the result is very transparent compression, making it particularly well suited for mastering and post-production workflows.

This is a good plugin. You might not understand the way Loudness metering works well enough to understand how to use this plugin. The plugin uses the same parameters found in Loudness meters/metering, plus some. One obvious difference between a Loudness meter and a Loudness compressor is that in a Loudness compressor, the parameters are tweakable, whereas in a meter, most are not.

No, it's a loudness “levelling” plugin. It automatically adjusts the volume of your audio to match whichever *dBFS value you set as your target output. It's similar to Sound Radix POWAIR, except this one does not include an actual compressor like POWAIR does, and this one has many more parameters. For APU Software to call this a “compressor” is a bit misleading. It is, in fact, a levelling plugin. An excellent one at that.
