Still takes 8 times longer to load than V1. Yet again I've gone back to v1.4.30.

Mine takes a long time to boot. When its works, this is the best version of THU. The pitch control in the console is great.
edit: Adding C:\Users\Your User\AppData\Roaming\Overloud does speed up the load times substantially.

As @page777 said when v2 was released; add the folder "Overloud" located in;

C:\Users\Your User\AppData\Roaming\

...to the exclusions list of Windows Defender, it will load fast, as the previous versions use to load.

This is good to know. Was almost not going to bother after seeing complaints as to how much longer it takes to load 👍

My music system is setup with Windows Defender disabled permanently; but still Th-U v2 takes 16 seconds to load vs less than 2 seconds for v1.

I don't believe Windows Defender can be disabled. The fix worked for me. It takes about 3 seconds to load on my fast computer which is longer than previous versions but acceptable...

plenty of windows defender blocker programs out there. they help alot. but apparently I'm not as worried as most people with load up times.. as long as it sounds great.

Defender Remover (GitHub)

More than disables. It is precisely what the name suggests.

Defender a/v and/or FW both can not only be disabled but completely uninstalled so it S'sTFU permanently. Neither should be running on a production machine anyway. Total waste of resources.

Wow you complain that it take 16 sec to launch the plugin
So what can you do in 14 sec that is so important?
I am SURE your riff or song or whatever isnt gonna be better just because you have 14 more seconds to play with.

@Guitarmaniac64
It really takes a long time. You can recommend to stay in v1, like many of us is doing. But such long loading time does matter.

That being said, I'm not sure what's the main cause. The new UI and features. Or the sheer number of files, many compressed... but that happened as well in v1, in a lesser degree
[2009] Sorry for my English. I'm working on it
[2017] I'm beginning to improve. Hell yeah, I'm a fast learner :D

Long time really?? count 14 sec please
What can you do in that time guitarwise?
Sure fail with a riff or maybe miss a tone in a solo or a lick

But practice makes perfect; so every time I load TH-U v1 I get to practice 14 seconds more towards perfection!

In any event the sound quality is exactly the same and the visual representation improvements in v2 just don't matter to me.

WD maintains silent surveillance tasks even while main characteristics are off, so to exclude the folder will work. If you have installed another AV, exclude that folder in the exclusions list too. There are a lot of new trojan generations over there, is seriously recommendable to not let your machine unprotected, even being offline 'cause surely you move files to the machine via intranet, usb sticks & so on.

The folder can be excluded from the index locations too, this will accelerate the soft load. Whatever, it is suggested to let the AV & the files indexation to run one time at least.

The key is not to be running a production machine on internet at all. Therefore there is no need for any of that stuff to be wasting resources running on a audio production machine . Thinking that defender a/v &/or firewall doesn't use resources is a fools errand. When you DL stuff off this site or where ever, you DL on a dedicated internet machine that has all the malware and A/V scanners installed on it and virus/malware scans originate on DL's there on the internet machine. Once DL's are cleared for use there is no need to keep scanning the stuff on a prod machine... It's not like once you have cleared them for use off the internet machine they are going to magically re-animate themselves and murder your audio box.

I never thought or said that AVs don't consume resources, they are black holes, obviously. Today, surfing the internet, downloading and other very simple operations require a good machine. If you can have 2 or 3 machines, what you say makes absolute sense, many of us can't.
