i'd say the whole app was rewritten , so yeah i guess it sounds better as they remade the internal engine

Its pretty easy to find out if they have done something to it sonically.

Just DI record a quick riff and then open the Slate version and find a factory preset WITHOUT effects (Its important as it is very hard to hear any difference between how it sounds if any effects like reverb delay modulation etc is on) and extract an audio file.

And then open the TH-U 2.0 find the same preset and if that doesnt exist just copy the settings on the amp AND the cab from the Slate version and extract an audio file make sure it has the same volyme then compare the two.

As for the kemper rip off profiling i really doubt they could have done something to make those sounds any better

If they have done something to the app sonically it must have been on the modeling side and i really doubt thats the case, i think they just did a GUI update and some change in preset management people over at TGP isn't relly impressed by the sound quality and think it sounds the same as before this is often the case when companys update the ampsim many say oh it sounds sooo much better then someone does a head to head comparison and it really sounds exactly the same as before.

I have used older V.R TH-U along with R2R,s Overloud Gem series for a long time with no problems.
Unless they changed something in the protection scheme i cant see why this shouldnt work

shit's not working for me, crashing reaper. took forever to verify on first scan, loads but crashes when clicked.

other r2r overloud stuff installed, overloud blocked in hosts, my theory is it's trying to call and then causes itself to crash when it can't

took about 2-3 min to open standalone version the 1st time on i7 9th gen - 32 GB Ram - Win 10 Pro PC

then it opened after that in 2 sec !!

Licenses in the Right Bottom has nothing inside it !! but every Preset, Cabint ,,, are working perfectly , smooth

works OK but first scan was super slow, so wait even though it really looks like it's stuck. Then it definitely takes longer to load than previous versions...but so far so good :)
