Bought two days ago. Great reverb. Mostly for small spaces.

I grabbed it as well.
No one needs one more reverb in 2024, especially not one that's IR-based, but Klevgrand does it right. I found the workflow and IRs inspiring.

apparently does not have the capability of using any IR. Has to use Klevgrand IR files that aren't available other than thru the "portal".

Not sure what you mean by a portal.
I haven't heard anything about any additional IRs for it either.
Also, there's 14,087 IR Loaders—I know because I have 3,098 of them—so there's no real loss in the dedicated impulse list; it's a niche deal and the controls seem to compliment them.

I'm also going to point out to anyone who happens upon this comment to check out KlangFalter by JD-13. It's a basic IR Loader that has a solid feature set, and doesn't make a significant dent in your CPU. I'd say it's underrated, but "unknown" is more accurate, you just have to find a way to deal with a terminally bland GUI straight out the oughts. It's a a free alternative for people who want a broke-man's SIR3... or people who collect IR Loaders.

The web site eludes to this plugin seemingly using it's own IR files. Like the 360 degree spatial capture, and other "features", etc... There isn't really much else on the site other than marketing hype so it's rather difficult to determine what this thing is really all about.

I have many spatial IR plugins as well and really don't need another. There would have to be something special about it to really justify messing around with yet another one...

It's all about being an IR Loader for a specific set of internal IRS, if I remember... around a hundred? so if you grab Revolv on sale, it could be seen as an expensive IR pack with a bunch of tailored parameters, making it worth it to some people.
I just didn't understand what you meant by having to use the "portal" which made it sound like they were only available through some Klevgrand version of Waves Central or Native Access. And I'm now also unsure what you mean by hype" as I got all of the information I needed about it from the blurb and the media on their site without them sliding in assurances that my use of it would shoot my songs to the top of the Billboard charts, but whateverwhatever.
Incidentally, they do have a new managerial app to keep your plugins of theirs up to date, but like PA's Installation Manager, it's optional.
