bobdule | 3 December 2024 | 649 MB
For 20 years, KONTAKT has been the backbone of countless film scores and pop hits, as well as thousands of incredible instruments from NI and your favorite NKS developers alike. Now, with a new HiDPI browsing experience, an overhauled Factory Library, new creative effects, and under-the-hood audio improvements, the next evolution is nearly here.

7.10.7 — 2024-12-02
Kontakt Improvements.
ADDED Support for macOS 15 Sequoia
IMPROVED Now loads as much as 6x faster than prior - better instantiation times with a lot of content products and 3rd party plugins installed
IMPROVED Tool-specific presets or multis that require Kontakt 8 are now hidden in Kontakt 7 to avoid confusion
FIXED Kontakt not properly updating the Kontrol S MK3 Lightguide in certain scenarios
FIXED When hosting Kontakt in Komplete Kontrol, the Instrument interface could get stuck on the prior instrument despite loading a new instrument
FIXED Using Spacebar to start/stop DAW playback on macOS could be inadvertently blocked when using Kontakt Tools
KNOWN ISSUE In Pro Tools, Kontakt window is cropped when zooming larger than available display size
KNOWN ISSUE Please note that if you have updated to Kontakt 7.10. from a version before 7.9, you may need to reselect your audio device on first launch (macOS only)
Kontakt Engine/Builder.
FIXED Missing PV button in instrument header for instruments with performance views
FIXED KSP Setting $ZONE_PAR_VOLUME was incorrectly clamped to 31.02 semitones
FIXED KSP Regression in load_array() behavior when loading string arrays (since Kontakt 6.7)
FIXED KSP Regression where $ENGINE_PAR_LR_SWAP and $ENGINE_PAR_PHASE_INVERT did not point to Inverter effect in instrument busses (since Kontakt 7.2)
IMPROVED Warnings are not shown as errors anymore in Creator Tools Debugger and Kontakt Lua API terminal
ADDED API factory_snapshot_path and user_snapshot_path entries in the Instrument Options table
FIXED API set_group_start_options() now properly obeys the given group index

Hi, I don't manage to activate. What should I do with the patcher.exe file exactly?

Why is this getting posted when v8.1 is already out?

Because it´s a brand new update of Kontakt7 NI released a few days ago. Prolly because they´ll support their V7 costumers the very best way......
Does it make sense?
You can't have everything; where would you put it?

LOL at "prolly". The word is "probably". "Prolly" sounds something a three year old would say...

Many have issues with Kontakt 8 and 8.1, save times can be ridiculously long.
So, stick to K7, better for your health!

Credit also for fellow member Mynock for accidentally discovering this bug. Accidentally like in the hard way. I'm sorry for your loss friend
[2009] Sorry for my English. I'm working on it
[2017] I'm beginning to improve. Hell yeah, I'm a fast learner :D

Hi Xupito! Thank you for sympathizing with my tragedy!
Yeah, fixing kontakt libs visual order is such a drag. I’m doing it little by little, in batches of 30 or 50 libraries. Honestly, I hope one of these Kontakt aces (Bobdule seems to be the top expert right now...) comes up with a way to save custom libs arrangements flawlessly. I know it’s probably not easy, But for those of us with many libraries installed is a monumental pain in the ass!

Thank you for this all involved and particularly Bob.
I can run Libraries through the 'Files' option on the dropdown, and the add library tool finds and registers just fine. But when in RACK view the libraries show as not found and im unable to use rack view to initiate most of my libraries despite successful registration.
Have I missed something obvious please?

Go to files, click options, then libraries, and there you have launch library tools.

How does this version's load time compare to the previous version? Is it actually 6x faster like NI claims?

I was unable to get some libraries to appear in Kontakt (like projectSAM Swing!, Spitfire British Drama Toolkit, some others). Others would appear (like libraries with nicnts I made myself, & a few others.) I found that using the 'Add Library' feature of the Kontakt_Button.exe, it would add the library information ot the Windows registry, but would not make changes in the correspondint json files in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\installed_products. I manually added the ContentVersion & ContentDir values to those files, & the libraries appead in Kontakt, Lib Organizer, etc. Not sure why that would be the case. Maybe this will help someone else.

Thank you very much for this post, this saved my ass today.

For some reason, Add Library would detect any libraries I point it to, but they would not appear in Kontakt.

In the folder : C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\installed_products
you can see all the JSON files. I removed all of them, then restarted Kontakt. Then all the JSONs would magically come back!

Then I redid the Add Library process and all of sudden the libraries are once again visible correctly in Kontakt.

This is very weird. Until I upgrade to Kontakt 8, this seems to be a good (yet mildly annoying) workaround.

Thanks RubyQ !!!

I have a problem with these last versions when I go to load samples into it, the cursor starts flickering between a pointer and a disk symbol, as thought it's loading something but never finishes.
