Tube Saturator Vintage is a free reissue of the original Tube Saturator. It uses circuit simulation technology to faithfully reproduce the sound of a dual triode preamp. While it sounds great, the circuit simulation technology is very CPU intensive, that’s why we developed its successor, Tube Saturator 2. Tube Saturator 2 is vastly more efficient, nearly identical in simulation accuracy, and adds other features. However, some users prefer the sound of the original and request it, hence we have released it as a free plug.

Yes it should be, but the fact is this version is SO much better than the 2nd, Pity it is a resource hog. because I would choose this over many hardware units.

I don't personally know anyone who uses Wave Arts, so that's an interesting note as per quality. I'll definitely be checking it out later today.
And, I also noted that the company refers to it as "computationally expensive," which I thought was a very slick way to refer to high CPU usage, in the same styling of a coroner labeling the death of someone dying while doing something stupid as "a fatal misadventure."

Hahha yes.. perfect analogy.
As far as the rest of Wave Arts stuff goes, it's all a bit 'dated' for me. I stopped using it ages ago, but I keep ^^ this saturator around because despite my computers' complaining when it's running, I would put it very near the top if not THE top of anything else available in VST form.
