you can generate a shortcut after replacement, then replace this one in start menu
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Ableton Live 11 Suite.exe

to restore the icon of your start menu.

Ableton puts out the change log the day THEY release the official update. This hasn't actually been released yet by Ableton (and oddly there is no mention of an 11.2.5 beta in the beta tester group either).

You don't need to. When you install this it gives you the option to remove and replace 11.2 automatically.

1) uninstall plugins you dont use weekly, probably you dont need them at all
2) upgrade your hw and system

Sorry, but it works so fast here under 10sec for 40+- plugins on m1 base model
i dont agree with fake it till you make it so i troll those guys

i have around 30 plugins and use them on daily basis. i guess the problem is with ableton not the plugins, i dont have this problem in older versions (before 11.1.5)

The Camel Audio and U-He Plugins have some linkfolders in their vst-plugin-folders. On my system these are the culprits. If u have some other vst plugins with some link folders inside they could also be problematic.

same, i moved them out of the vst folder and scanning is normal now, but i rely on u-he plugins, any solutions?

Move the folder links temporaryly in the u-he plugins folder (e.g. on to desktop). scan ur plugs, then move them back. ;)

Something that works to me is when i first open ableton, i cancel scan, and after i rescan. It seems that unlags the scanning

Yeah this is my strategy for it, for some reason that first initial scan is always extremely slow and laggy but after you cancel the 2nd one cycles much faster. Idk why, but it always seems to work that way.

I dont have issues anymore with A11, it starts up super fast even with way over 60 plugs. One thing you might want consider is a fast, high quality meta plugin host if you have older hardware or to many plugs. A meta plug is a single plug that will load other plugs, I used that for my machine installation since that always seems to scan plugs on start up. All meta host work differently but do the same job, they load vst vsti into themselves. The daw only reads one empty Meta plug host on start up, speed problem solved. Your start up will be instantaneous, no bs. Optionally, you can leave in the go-2s and have the meta be where you load all your testing stuff. I think its a good habit cause we dont need five 303s or eight 808s. We need to have one good 808 and sound design from there on. best of luck

I've expected a lot of things, but I didn't expect to read "bobdule" after an Ableton Live release, good stuff!

The last 3 times I install 1 new VST plugin I timed the scan and it was just over 15 minutes each time I did it. I have new top pc and I also read deleting uhe NKS files solved it for someone but that didnt work for me. my pc is offline always. I never had this problem before until Ableton 11. Right now I have 11.1.6 and wont update until sure its fixed or some substantial new update. I hope they fix this or someone finds a real fix because it is annoying.

I'm on 11.1.6 works perfect Ive tried 11.2.0 but it seems buggy so I reverted back to 11.1.6 which just seems all okay. Not sure why everyone is complaining about the vst scans mine scans fine in seconds and I have 30 vst2 and about 25 vst3.

People are talking about it for a reason, why would they make it up? Mine is the same, and you'd be talking about it if you had the same issue. It's been an ongoing issue for a while now.

Compared to other DAWs like Reaper and Reason Ableton scans the entire VSTPlugins folder every time you add a single one and every time you restart your pc, Reaper and Reason don't behave like that, they simply skip the plugins already scanned and scan only the new ones, and they don't scan the entire folder even after a pc resart, this is better and way easy and fast, i don't think is difficult to do something like this but it is what it is and it's a pain in the ass 'cause i have a ton of plugins and use mainly Ableton live, Plugins Scanner. exe is related to Ableton Index. exe, after plugin scan is done, index will be updated, you cannot skip and if you close the app before finishing it will do it again the next time and sadly you can't stop it like in the older versions with a simple command inside options.txt file anymore.

11.2.5 Release Notes
New Features and improvements:

Ableton Cloud

Introduced Ableton Cloud, a service that sends Sets from Ableton Note directly to Live’s browser, as well as other instances of Note across various iOS devices.

To enable cloud functionality in Live, open Live’s Preferences, go to the Library tab, and switch the Show Cloud option to On.

Once enabled, a Cloud label will appear in the Places section of Live’s browser, along with a message prompting you to sign in to ableton.com. Click the Sign In button to open a web browser window, this will lead you through the activation process required to connect the service to your Ableton User Account.

After activating Cloud, any Sets that are uploaded to Cloud in Note will appear in Live’s browser in real-time, assuming both devices are connected to a reliable network and logged into the same Ableton User Account.

Various Cloud-related software texts have been added in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish.

For more information about Cloud and Note, please refer to the following:
