Ok let me clarify this STEP by STEP for M1 users


1. Download this latest waves v14 release by RET.

2. Extract and install waves central.

3. Perform an offline installation by choosing plugins you like to install or install all online

4. Replace WavesLicenseEngine.bundle in Library>Application Support>Waves>Modules

5. Replace "index.js" in
/Library/Application Support/Waves/COSMOS/HTML/

6. Replace "app.asar" in
/Applications/Waves/COSMOS/COSMOS.app/Contents/Resources/

7. Open terminal and paste following commands:
xattr -cr /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle

sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle

7.a . Removes waves local server : (Run in terminal)

8. Run waves keygen on a windows pc or with crossover on M1 macs.

9. Find your computer id on waves central licenses tab, enter exact id to keygen and generate license file.
You can also find ID on Library>Application Support>Waves>Licenses>LastAcceptableMACAddress

10. Copy license file to Library>Application Support>Waves>Licenses

11. RESTART your mac FIRST and run waves au reg utility 14 and click let's go, it will identify your plugins.

12. Open your daw it will automatically scan plugins, if not rescan plugins manually.

Tested on several macs with macos monterey 12.5.1, Nuendo 12.0.40 and Logic pro 10.7.4 M1 NATIVE

Everything works completely , COSMOS too

I finally got it all to work on M1 Silicone by running the

1. downlloaded from waves central install all v14 only.

2. THANKS TO

(B) 1 run this au utility reg 12.0.0.87 build R 215.024

4. (A) Then in logic pro 10.74 go to plugin manager and scroll down to the waves folder

(B) Select all from botton to top

(C) click on reset and rescan selection will till finish and then quit and restart logic

Can confirm all works on M1 Monterey 12.6
To get COSMOS working, just follow the instructions Swayze posted.
If you have had Waves installed previously, completely uninstall it manually and do a clean install.

I found out that this is the only way because I had previously installed Waves and had COSMOS working successfully, but then I tried to install another Nx plugin additionally and it all fell apart. Doing the clean install made everything work again.

Does anyone have any of the Waves releases working specifically for VST's? I can get all this stuff working for AU's, but not at all for VST's (Cubase, Bitwig, etc) Is there some equivalent of the AU regtool or some such that is needed?

AAX AU and COSMOS working M1 12.5.1. VST likely too since the rest worked so well. but using the method and files and keygen from the RET 2022.09.12 release on the Waves installer from this release.
here's what worked for me and just made my day:

Install Waves.
put waves central from any recent release in applications. run with internet on and let update if need be. within the app uninstall old waves plugins but don't fix permissions.
offline install. point to waves install folder. in my case WC14.21.09.22.MAC worked but maybe any recent V14 release that comes with an AU Reg Utility

Replace "WavesLicenseEngine.bundle" in
/Library/Application Support/Waves/Modules/

Replace "index.js" in
/Library/Application Support/Waves/COSMOS/HTML/

Replace "app.asar" in
/Applications/Waves/COSMOS/COSMOS.app/Contents/Resources/

terminal
xattr -cr /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle

sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle


Run R2R KeyGen on Windows. crossover is best now. playonmac used to work and is faster but 12.6 broke it and it won't work anymore because they won't update it
Input Device ID to the keygen.
You can find the Devices and their ID at Licenses tab in WavesCentral. or in the "LastAcceptableMACAddress" file in /Library/Application Support/Waves/Licenses/
since you're going to that folder anyway
Generate *.wle license.
Copy *.wle license to

[Computer License]
/Library/Application Support/Waves/Licenses/

[Removable Media License]
(Device)/Waves/Licenses/

RESTART
run WAVES AU Reg Utility 12 after restart. interestingly this file is not included in the RET 2022.09.12 release, but seems to not hurt

also had to manually bulk revalidate them in Logic plugin manager, but they all did!
