smart:comp 2 is an invaluable assistant – whether you're a mastering/mixing professional or an aspiring talent.

Features

Audio compression powered by AI
Incredible sound – your tracks deserve nothing less
smart:comp 2’s AI-powered automatic parametrization, spectral compression, and sidechain ducking abilities aim for one goal: clean, well-balanced compression results that remain true to your input signal – no matter whether you are working on single instruments, instrument busses or entire mixes. By analyzing the characteristics of your material, its intelligent processing will enhance transparency and preserve crucial details without compromising the integrity of the signal. Supported by such a sound base you can go ahead and let your creativity flow.

Inspiration hits with more possibilities
Tap the full potential of shaping dynamics
This exceptionally versatile compressor is packed with features that enable you to give any track your unique vibe. Gradually shape the character of the compressor with the style dial and give your results a darker or brighter vibe using the color dial. The free-form transfer function with its templates allows you to achieve sophisticated level mapping.

Smooth handling and real-time monitoring
Everything you need at a glance
Working with smart:comp 2 is straightforward and intuitive. All crucial compression parameters take center stage – their handling will feel as familiar as working with a common single band compressor. With input level riding you can focus directly on shaping the dynamics of your track instead of worrying about level issues. smart:comp 2 provides you with real-time monitoring elements such as instant impact prediction which immediately reflects every parameter change across the entire signal, compression mapping and a RMS level histogram that outlines the overall dynamics of a track.

Modified AAX, you know what that means.

quote by rafaewsYou're doing SmartEQLive? I'd love that thing. R2R's version doesn't work properly. :'(

If we're are talking about the same problem ( which took pages on AZ ) : the fact that the " group view " did not work without an active network connection was not R2R's fault.

To be checked with a newer version.

Nah I'm talking about the instances of the plugin losing the eq curve when rendering to a different sample rate and the welcome splash being shown every time you open/add the plugin. Also it doesn't save the GUI size.
But yeah It might be the original developer's fault.

OK : I reinstalled Sonible SmartEQ Live v1.0.3 R2R ( R2R11081 ).

Running it inside Sequoia on WIN 10 x64, I observe exactly that same behavior you described.

So I downloaded the trial : and I don't have those problems of size of windows and splash screen ( p-i wants to connect to the dev's server etc. ). So all looks fine.

As for " losing the eq curve when rendering to a different sample rate ", I don't understand what you mean. You did not specify your OS, your DAW.

Uninstalled.

You can use this plugin either leaving the auto eq ON at all times (adaptive mode) or you can calibrate for any amount of time and then leave that eq curve static, right?

So, if you are working (I've tested only on Reaper, Win10) on let's say 48kHz and you wanna export/render your work to mp3 44100, sometimes all the instances of the plugin reset their curves (go to flat) and become unresponsive. Specially if you have a few projects open. You render one project, instances of SmartEQ live of other projects become unresponsive and you end up needing to reload them or toggle offline/online again. (bypassing doesn't solve the issue, it needs to be reloaded)

But good to know that the splash screen and the resizing of the GUI are issues not found on the genuine plugin. Maybe there's something R2R or Articstorm can do.

Edit: I did some testing and they both (trial and r2r) have the changing samplerate problem. Sonible's fault then.

Edit2: surprisingly, r2r's version now doesn't have the welcome splash bug

Ironically, I just now got around to testing in Pro Tools 12.5 and it crashes PT to desktop, once loaded to a track. Scanning in the beginning is all fine. It is not terribly important to me, as I can just Blue Cat it in there anyway, but if it's fixed I would put it. heh Thanks again.

Something is weird with it, albeit it could even be from Sonible themselves. At times, my system is reacting (down to logs themselves) to loading it the same way as when a plugin has avx requirement. This is obviously not the culprit though as it does load sometimes, instead of crashing host to desktop. Sometimes, if I load VST2 first, it is more stable. Very weird in any case, and glad it is good for you. If I learn more, I will say - even if it is only a problem local to here.

Is anyone else seeing an issue where this V2 compresses harder than V1?

I tested v1 and was totally unimpressed.

The sounds in the demo for v2 was also not impressing... felt lo-fi quality.
Might try it anyways.

Insta-purchase. This comp is simply amazing with functionality. FabFilter ProC2 just got smoked. I can't remember how many years it's been since I was impressed enough to leave a post like this but there you have it. It's on 30% discount for it's release but might get a sweeter deal this coming Black Friday... I ain't waiting. Tag it and bag it.
